I REALLY wanted to stay at Pop Century during our May visit, but alas, no more AP rates available for there. We are doing POFQ, our first time there, we've done AKL, CSR and AKL so I'm sure we''l like it. It's just hard when you get your heart set on something. And I refuse to go for the rack rate of $99 when a moderate is $74 AP rate. Sorry, just needed to whine a little bit more.;)

I've stayed at PC & POFQ. We enjoyed our stay at POFQ sooo much more! Better pool (has cool slide), better room & on the water. Ask for a corner room (2 windows instead of 1). Have a great time!

Keep calling back - I wanted POP with the AP rate for our recent Spring Break trip & only the preferred view was available. I kept calling, & eventually got the dates I wanted , standard view, with an AP rate!:p This was less than a week before we left, too!

One of the positive aspects of staying at POR or POFQ is the boatride to DTD, particularly in the evening after a day in the parks. Very relaxing...

Do they still do the boatride, I thought they stopped doing that? Sounds great.

I stayed at POFQ last year before it closed and really liked it. It's nice to stay in a small resort, everything is close. There is only 1 bus stop, no riding all around.

The boat to DD is up and running. It is a great way to relax. POFQ does share buses with POR. You will be picked up first and dropped off last according to the route they were using last week. I guess we were getting in the swing of things, since we went by POFQ everytime our bus dropped us off.

I'm sure you'll LOVE POFQ! It just puzzles me as to "how" Disney sends the post cards and offers. I'm sitting here with a postcard rate of $59 per eve for POP...and can not use it! It has a special PIN, probably associated with my name. It is valid from 4/18/04-7/4/04. It is such a cute presentation card too. ::yes:: It is a shame I'm unable to use it, as my plans are all set/reserved, and none of them include POP. Keep trying for the AP rate, as something may open. If not...I know you'll have a MAGICAL TIME @ POFQ!!

the POFQ pool is great! you should love it! and the AP is a great rate. I bet you will not be dissapointed when you get there.
in fact when you get back you can let us know how happy you were you had to stay there!!

have fun!!:wave2:

Sometimes there are openings. But, POFQ is a great resort too. That is where we stayed on our very first "family" Disney trip, so it holds a lot of memories. The pool is awesome and hopefully the food court still sells beignets!

Can you split your stay? Maybe the AP rate isn't available all days, but some. I would probably stay at POP first and then move over to POFQ.

I can tell you it is not very relaxing when it is your anniversary and you are taking this moonlight boat trip and it is populated with a group of boys with male leaders insisting they all sing Sponge Bob Square pants the whole way there at the top of their lungs.
I really wish the captain had asked them to stop that is so incredibly rude and a great lesson to be teaching those kids.
Made me furious.

Thanks for all your posts, I'm sure we will love POFQ. I guess it's not exciting to me because I live in the south so it's not like I'm seeing someting new and different. We like trying a new hotel each time. I avoid the All-Stars due to the large sport groups that tend to go there and the budget won't allow for a deluxe this time, otherwise I would have tried for a standard at the WL. We will be back for Christmas, if it's the Lord's will, and I will first try for WL and second try for POP.

I've not stayed at POP (probably won't), but I've stayed at All Stars and at three of moderates and would never choose a value over a moderate -- even if it meant paying extra.

POFQ was my first onsite hotel and maybe becuase it was my honeymoon (12 years ago) Yikes. It will always remain a magical place to me. The atmosphere is pure magic.

I have never stayed at a value resort, but I am going to POP Century becuase I want to try something new. You will not be disappointed at POFQ. From what I see it has a lot more to offer than the value resorts. The hot tub is great at the end of a long day and the pool is awesome. I loved sitting at the pool bar and relaxing with a cocktail just enjoying the piped in dixie music and the total relaxed feel of the resort. The only negative thing I could say about this resort is that it has a bad game room. Other than that it is great.

Enjoy the magic.

If you have your heart set on POP, don't take no for an answer. We went in Feb (booked in Dec) and my mom decided late Jan to come along too. She called to get a room with the Fl resident rates and the CM kept telling her there were no rooms with that rate available, etc....she told them to check again and after a little persistance she got one.....
