Disappointed in food this trip...

Thanks for the clarification. I'm relieved to read that the physical imperfections you meant were about his shirt not being tucked in and his hair sticking up....certainly much better what I took as being "physical" such as his body...face...and other things typically "picked on" or discriminated against.

Since you too have disabilities, I'm now sure that you understand how heartbreaking it is to hear one become the target of unkind comments regarding one's physical state. Personally, I have seen and experienced it. It's where my sensitivity and perhaps...perception stems from.

I'm NOT a person who takes pleasure in flaming someone...to assume so would be as incorrect as my take on Linda's comment. I was merely standing up for what I percieved to be an injustice to another human being.

To those who didn't perceive it the way I initially did....I'm envious of your ability to have seen it differently and to be without the "baggage" that caused my intial reaction pop in my head. I work on it everyday and I continue to work on it.

Food, however is one of my joys in life....so to Linda...I am sorry that your meals were not enjoyable...that would be a bummer on my trip as well.

To better days, better meals and better understanding
Cheers!

We quietly discussed all his physical imperfections in order to restore my daughter's good humor! I deal with my teenager with a sense of humor (and most everything else in life) [/B]

I knew exactly what you meant and can't understand why so many people (not just on these boards but in general today all over the country) often jump to the wrong conclusion about someone or about a situation.

People should stop and think a minute and not automatically criticize another person.

I was disappointed in the Disney food two trips ago (dry, tasteless, "seemed old", just lousy for the prices they charge especially at the buffets - Holly Wood and Vine was a real disappointment on that trip) - that was Oct. 2002.

In Feb. 2003 the food seemed better but we ate at different places.

Over all , I think if Disney is going to charge prices like that , the quality of the food should be good - regardless of where it is (counter service or deluxe).

I am soooo sorry to hear of your bad experiences. It is VERY disappointing when you get service like that. I hope that this is corrected. Please let Disney know of your service so they can correct it.

Thanks for posting your reviews.

Sorry that you had so many bad dining experiences. As stated in earliar posts I have never had a bad dining experience at WDW, perhaps I have just been especially lucky.

In relation to the steak cutting incident I would have had to speak to either the Head Server or the duty Manager.

In relation to the discussion between yourself and your daughter afterwards I would have to say that perhaps a good idea would have been to explain to your daughter that people on occassions can do some very weird things and this was one of them. Again though you know your daughter better than we do. What matters that you both still managed to have an enjoyable experience at WDW.

I would feel like the Queen of England if somebody cut my steak. I hate to cut a steak when the knife is not sharp. Now if he touched it with his hands that would be another story.
