Disappearing Peep Ditches Diet on the DDP! Lots of Pics! - Completed pg. 11!

This was a very busy day for us; and one of the most memorable. We woke up feeling refreshed after a full night’s sleep and headed to MK. We were suppose to be there at rope drop, but I over slept. On this day we receive two dreams, (but you will have to read the trip report to learn about those :thumbsup2 ) and went to MK, Epcot, and back to MK for evening EMH. We had 11:10 adrs for Liberty Tree Tavern. It was not very busy and several people walked in at the same time without adrs and were seated pretty quickly. The park was very crowded this day, so by the time we left the restaurant was much busier. We chose lunch because I liked the menu options better.

Lunch – Liberty Tree Tavern
This is a very quaint restaurant. I loved the quiet, historical setting. We were seated near a fireplace. Our server was nice enough, but seemed rushed (even though our section was pretty slow) and not necessarily friendly. He kind of snipped at my DS when he asked if he could have chicken strips – “No, not on the menu and surely that is not AAALLLLL you eat.” (Said dramatically and with attitude :sad2: ) Maybe he has received complaints about the new kids menus. This meal was served quickly too.

Appetizers (For some reason, I did not get pics of these – sorry, I do get better as the trip goes on.)
I had the Declaration Salad - field greens and vegetables tossed our tavern strawberry vinaigrette because I had heard great things about this. Ohana’s salad was much better in my opinion. This one was okay, but kind of bland.
In-laws had the French onion soup, which they both loved. I tasted it and thought it was okay – typical onion soup.
DH and DD had the Tavern Fried Cheese – This was the BEST appetizer, one of the favorites all week. The crust was very light and the cheese was gooey and soft, not hard and rubbery. My DS ate most of DH’s because he did not like his kid’s chicken noodle soup (campbell’s would be my guess). My DH ate the soup and said it was okay.

Entrees

DMIL and I had the William Penn Pasta -- Marinated grilled chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, oven-roasted mushrooms, fresh spinach finished with a creamy marinara sauce. This was good. Not exceptional, but good. The creamy marinara sauce was light, but a little on the bland side. The bacon gives it a unique taste. It was a large serving and I could not finish it – but I did pick out the chicken and mushrooms!

DFIL and DH had the Pilgrims' Feast - traditional roast turkey with herb bread dressing, mashed potatoes and a garden vegetable. They both really liked this. The dressing was great and the vegetables tasted fresh.

DD had the Fresh from the Harbor - cider-cured salmon on griddled pumpkin bread, spaghetti squash, and fresh mache with butternut squash vinaigrette. My DD does not like any type of sweet sauce (I love sweet sauces). So she did not care for this. I am not a big fan of salmon, so not really my thing either. But the pumpkin bread was great. It was moist and had a wonderful flavor. I picked at some of that. I did not care for the squash, it had a weird taste. In the corner, you can see my DS’s Stouffer’s mac and cheese. It was good.

Desserts (the best part of any meal, IMO)

dispic2048.jpg

Top left corner - Caramel Apple Tart -- shortbread crust, sugared apples, and cinnamon ice cream. Me and DMIL ordered this. It was really tasty! Very filling because the tart had a heavy crust. The cinnamon ice cream was good too.
Top right corner - Chocolate Liberation Cake -- warm chocolate lava cake with raspberry sauce and cherry Chambord ice cream. My DD ordered this. She loved it. I liked the chocolate cake – very moist and the fudge center was a rich, sweet chocolate. DD liked the cherry ice cream, I did not care for it.
Bottom left corner – DS’s kid’s sundae. It was an ice cream sundae – DS at a lot of these!
Bottom right corner - Butter Griddled Pound Cake -- served with warm pecan caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. DFIL and DH ordered this ( I think). Oh my gosh! This was slap-your-granny good! Almost better than the Ohana dessert. I love pecan pralines, candied pecans, caramel and pecans – I just love pecans. So, the pecan caramel sauce and ice cream was to die for! :cloud9: The pound cake was good too, but a little heavy (I mean fried pound cake, the plate weighed 5 lbs!) So I mostly scraped off all the pecans and ice cream. Maybe this is why I could not finish my dessert!

This was not my favorite meal of the week. As far as MK, we preferred Tony’s. But I would definitely stop in here for fried cheese or a cup of coffee with dessert! B (for the desserts, otherwise a C)

Snacks

Aloha Isle – DD has a Pineapple float (soft serve pineapple ice cream in pineapple juice), I had a Pineapple Dole Whip and DS had a soft serve chocolate ice cream. I loved my Dole Whip. The float is too strong for me, good if you really like pineapples. My DH said it would be better with the pineapple and vanilla swirl ice cream. But DH loved this snack! A

After snacks, we decided that this park was too crowded. So we headed to Epcot to ride the new Nemo ride and eat in the WS.

Dinner

Tangierine Café in Morocco
I was the only one who wanted to eat here. So we got my DS chicken nuggets at McDonalds and the others headed to the “safe” meal at Liberty Inn in America and I headed to Morocco with DS. I ordered the chicken and lamb Shawarma Platter served with a side of hummus, tabbouleh and Tangierine CousCous salad with fresh Moroccan bread and baklava. This was pretty good. It gets so many great reviews that I had to try it. I loved the lamb, it had a really wonderful sauce. The chicken was okay, I would recommend the lamb. This was a large platter. I hardly ate half of it. The hummus and CousCous were good, different but good. The tabbouleh (I think it is the green stuff on the plate) – no I did not like this. The baklava was rich and very sweet. Anyway, although this tasted good, it did not agree with my system at all and I paid for it later that night. (and that is all you need to know, I will spare you the details :scared: ) C
This picture is a little blurry - new camera, second day (first digital camera).

Liberty Inn in America
The rest of my family had the double bacon cheeseburgers with fries and Mickey rice crispy treats at Liberty Inn. They all said this was good. Comparable to Pecos Bill. Good fixins bar. Their food was gone by the time I arrived, so no pictures. Just imagine a basket of burger and fries – not anything unusual. B

After this we headed back to MK for the EMH and lasted until about 12:30. Long day!

Next installment ( I will try to do tomorrow night after church) – CS at Blizzard Beach and Kona Café at the Poly. :cool1:

I thought I could write my trip report simultaneously, but I had no idea how time consuming this was with pics and all! So I will hurry up and try to finish the dining review so I can do the trippie!

I get X on all but 2 of the pics in this... now on page 11, I saw all the (<drool>) pictures, and thought I could go back and re read, and see...

well, I guess its less drooling this way!! :rotfl2:

I am not sure why we get x's sometimes. I have been meaning to ask this on the tech board. I just haven't had time. Keeping up with the Peeps thread is a full-time job!!

I was just thinking you haven't deleted those photos from your photobucket account have you?

Stacey - Your pictures just reappeared. Although, I think there are a few still gone. Did you figure out what to do about your photopass CD? I don't know who you might call, but is there a website? Maybe you could send them an email? Just a thought.

I just added the LTT pics back to photobucket. I wonder if I have to go back and paste them in now... Darn. I will have to try that later. I have an assignment do for school today. Thanks for the suggestion Jo!

It looks like all those pictures are back, but you are still missing some from your first day in AK.

Okay, I put all the pics back! So I learned something new - don't delete photos from photobucket. Hope you can store a lot of pics because I still have to do me trip report!

I was already hungry when I started to read your report. I'm now FAMISHED. Some of that food looked absolutely divine.

Now I'm second guessing an ADR and considering changing it to Kona. We are already doing Kona Cafe for breakfast one morning, but now I'm thinking about changing our Yachtsman ADR to Kona for dinner.

Awesome review Stacy! It has definitely solidified my future ADR for Le Cellier when we go in November. DH has never been to WDW (shocking!!) and I wanted a nice evening in EPCOT. We are going to take DS (who will be 4.5 by then) to the Neverland Club at the Poly and take off just the two of us!

Thanks for all the pictures! I take pictures of my food too, but then, I was raised in food service, and my mom (who's almost 81) always quizzes me about where I ate, how it was plated, etc.

I wanted to say I thouroughly enjoyed your reports and its fun to see the food too;)

I have to ask...you mentioned that you were only offered bread at Kona and somewhere else...can't remember...

weren't you offered bread at LTT lunch??? they have great rolls and APPLE BUTTER. they used to serve the apple butter on the table, now you have to ask for it.
they still served the bread last May....I am hoping they still do...so I can get my apple butter fix.
:goodvibes

Thanks for the food porn!!:) My youngest Eoin kept coming up and saying mmmmmmmmm wow....:lmao: Gotta love that kid he eats everything

Wow, I had no idea this report was still being read! Thanks, Brenda for letting me know! So to all who read a month ago, I am sorry I am just now responding - how rude of me!

Great reports & photos thanks

You are very welcome!

Thanks for your reviews and pics!

Glad you enjoyed - I certainly enjoyed eating all of it! It is sad that when we start talking Disney, the first thing I plan is the food!

I see that your trip is very close! Let us know what you decide. And definitely take pictures of all the food. Your family will love it! Kona was a favorite. I have never eaten at Yachtman. I know it has had mixed reviews.

You will love Le Cellier. Definitely try the Spinach Au Gratin and Shrimp Cocktail. So your family thinks it is normal to take pics of your food, that is a good thing!

Nope, no bread at LTT. We only had bread at Kona and Le Cellier. Rolls with apple butter sound great, though! Maybe they serve them at dinner?

Just read your reviews. Love them. Great pictures. Thanks.

So glad you enjoyed! Thank you!

Thanks for the food porn!!:) My youngest Eoin kept coming up and saying mmmmmmmmm wow....:lmao: Gotta love that kid he eats everything

My oldest also enjoyed the food! She was old enough to eat adult meals and looked forward to everyone. As for my DS, chicken strips and pizza! Thanks for reading!

:worship: Great Reviews.....Thanks!!!!

Thank you! Maybe one of these days I will get around to writing the trip report!

I'd like to try Le Cellier, but my family doesn't like red meat aka steak very much. Are there many good options besides steak?
