When: December 12th - December 21st
Where: Wilderness Lodge
We checked into the lodge around 10:20 pm. No wait at the front desk. We asked about upgrades but the hotel was booked solid (presumably because we were checking in on Friday and most leave on Saturday).
We also asked about Flag family. We had our choice from 12/19-12/21. We chose 12/19. Totally excited.
Unfortunately, thats where our luck ends. We walk up to our room (5082) and realize that its facing the lobby. Although this is a beautiful view, it is noisy! We walk in and low and behold, there are bunk beds (which we did not request). While some may like this feature, it doesnt work well for us. Trust me when I tell you that the bunks are very uncomfortable and definitely not made for adults.
I called front desk and asked to be moved but again was told that they were booked solid and could do nothing for us until the next morning. To top it off, my son (4) was upset and wanted to go home.
Also, did I mention the view? We had the wonderful view of the front parking lot and side service area. I guess because there was one tree in front of the balcony that they could call it a woods view.
At 1:00 am Im wandering the halls with my 4 yr old because he cant sleep due to the lobby noise (cleaning up) and the service area trucks pulling in and out. At this point, I wanted to cry myself and go home. I did find a nice cozy couch on the fifth floor where we sat and admired the beautiful tree.
We finally went back to the room and actually fell asleep. Its gotta get better tomorrow right?
