Hi, My name is Ktink and I am a DISaholic. What started out innocently enough on gathering information has turned into quite the ugly habit. Soon I was playing all the different word games and the good smell bad smell type games and that wasn't enough. I knew there was a problem when I was walking by the mirror and saw my reflection as I was on the phone calling a friend w/ the news of my newest "Tag". Who have I become? :confused3 I've also indulged myself w/ glittery name tags, cool tickers, resort resume', and the layout of our family in smiley text. :sad2:

I've also started to use abbreviations like TIA, ADR, AKL, the list goes on. For instance if I yell "BUG" in the car,my kids don't freak out thinking theres a bug they know it means, "Buckle Up Girls" I also find myself expressing emotions by reaching for the mouse, you know :rotfl: :furious: :sad2:

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

My name is Kathleen & I am a disaholic. I started in 2001. First just to gather information on trips. I would visit a few months every year until my trip. Then I could stop.

I went hard core about 2005 when I started visiting the CB Board. At first I was just curious. Then I realized it thrilled me. Now I am HOOKED.

I have tried to walk away. I have even told my DH I'm not going back...but I always go back.

My name is Imsorry and I am a disaholic. I can't even get any work done without checking here every two minutes. I keep saying I can stay away for a day, but I can't make it through an hour! I need help people!!!

I don't think everyone is being honest w/ their self. You have to admit there is a problem before you can stop the addiction.

They are all in denial - so sad

Hello~

I am a Disaholic too. I also, started out just gathering information for my trip, then it snowballed. I too have added glitter, cute characters and tickers. I am just tickled pink about my tags and I can't control my desire to "just check something real quick" an hour later I am deep into reading the posts. I can see my future now.....standing outside the public library with a sign in my hand that reads "will work for dis"

Oh the insanity.

Hello, my name is Nancyg56, and I am a Disaholic. It started for me when I needed info for our trip. Started getting worse when I just wanted to "keep in touch" after the trip. Now I can't start my day until I get my Dis fix. I need to know what's for dinner? I cannot start laundry until I check the restaurant thread, and I can't even think about American Idol before I am checking to see what the DIS has to say. Did you say Trip Reports? I gotta read them. I check to see what's new in between chores. Reward myself with some DIS time after I finish a little task.

Now I am really in a fix because my DD and DSIL have discovered my vice.....and they are taking away good DIS time now. I thought this was all mine mine mine!

I want a support group for people like me. We have a problem, admit there is a problem, and do not want to fix the problem. We just need more time for the DIS. :disrocks:

My name is Goofyforlife and i'm a dis-aholic too....

It started out just as way to start a cruise meet in August 2004. Here I am almost two years later.....

I've left work to get deals at Target, was mad when I couldn't get the sears $29.99 mickey TV, and get irate when people ask if they can pool-hop....

Is there any hope of recovery? :surfweb:

At least we're being honest w/ ourselves. There is still hope ;)

Thanks for Sharing everyone.

My name is Kathleen & I'm a Disaholic. I lost a Sunday once ... I had signature envy. I did not know how to get the shinny, sparkling, moving, blinking & counting signature others had. I started visiting the Tech Board trying to learn. Before I knew it hours had pass. :surfweb:

Now I'm thinking of buying a Digital Camera....just so I can post pictures :guilty:

:lmao: :lmao:

Kathleen, I have done this exact thing.

My name is Laura and I am a DISoholic. I spend my days dreaming of my next WDW vacation, no matter how far off it is. I see hidden mickey's everywhere, my children eat burned dinners because I am surfing DISboards while cooking dinner.

I too use far too many abbreviations, I don't believe my DH was a DH when we got married, I am sure he has a name....I just can't remember it.

Man, do I need help!!! I need another ticker!! :rotfl2:

Ok yes it's me the T in TMT MARTINS I can't sneek home fast enough to check the DIS .If I have nothing to do (most of my time per DW ) I'm browsing the DIS for the betterment of my future family trips to the world.

So I'm a researcher not a Disaholic .

Man I can't even get to the first step.

:lmao: I was jonesing so bad you guys made me double post. :rotfl2:

Hello, my name is Korin and I am a DISoholic. I, like everyone else, started coming on the DISBoards to find info for our trip. A friend of mine informed my FH about these boards who in turn passed them on to me. I have been addicted ever since. I received lots of wonderful useful information and I thought that once I went on my trip I would post a trip report and that would be the end of it. I have now been back from my trip for almost a week and I visit the DISBoards even more than when I left. I know I haven't been here long, I just don't remember my life without the DIS. At this point I am not sure if I even want to.

Plus, why stop coming? FH and I have already started planning for our next trip! I can't wait, I can't wait!!!!

It's good to know that I am not alone here. Thank you for your support. :rolleyes1

hi, am an 2xcited2slp and i am a new disaholic.

the person who told me about this board said that a person could spend hours on it. i thought to myself "nah", that won't be me. :lmao: i have now told them that they created a monster.

last friday i could not wait to get home from MY birthday dinner to see what was going on here.

two nights ago i stayed up until 4am (yes, you read correctly) reading a funny, old and closed trip report and i am still not finished reading it.

i am a grown woman. i know better.

i made myself clean my kitchen or no disboards. it was supposed to be done before but i had to get my ticker and signature setup. i needed it to be "pretty".

i am obsessed, yes, obsessed you see. :hyper:

I have caught myself several times referring to my husband as "my DH" in real life conversations. I need help. :sad2:

Thats real bad if my DW called me a DH is public she would be in real trouble for saying a bad word :lmao: (dh= Richard cranium)

My name is Kim, and I too am a DIS-aholic!! I started the same way looking for info and tips. I don't even recall how I found DIS in the first place, but boy am I glad I did. My family rolls their eyes when I tell them about something, "I read on the boards." I have to check in numerous times a day. In fact I SHOULD be in bed right now, but no I'm reading and posting on DIS!! I think all new comers should get the warning that it is highly addictive, but i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2
