Disneyworld is kicking out and barring entry to hundreds of families a day with their regressive mask policy. Anyone two and up has to wear a mask, despite Florida's no mask mandate. Doesnt matter if youve had the vaccine, or youre a child, or have already had covid, or have a disability. There is a now viral video of them kicking out the family of an autistic 2 year old who was having trouble wearing the mask. Zero exemptions. The mask needs to be optional or at minimum have a disability exemption. Id encourage everyone to call or email and complain. Its the only way we turn this around by making a stink back at them

I’m sorry but I disagree. Once they start offering exemptions many will take advantage even when they don’t need them. A family knows what the requirements are. If they don’t like them they don’t need to travel there right now.

If more people would have embraced the mask we wouldn’t be 1+ years and still dealing with this. I understand not everyone agrees with me. So just my opinion.

I can and am choosing not to go their. Doesnt make it not discriminatory on their part. Ive been vaccinated, already had covid and have my anti bodies measured at 10x vaccine immunity levels, will get temperature checked to show I dont have it, will self quarantine for two weeks prior to the visit, will have a negative PCR test. There is zero chance I can get or give it yet you still ask me and others to harm ourselves by wearing a mask our disability doesnt allow. So if its their house, their rules, that would apply to people in wheel chairs? Or women? Or someone from an ethic background they dont like? Walt Disney didnt like certain groups, so Disney would be justified in banning them?

I completely disagree the mask mandate isn’t discrimination at all it’s very inclusive it protects cast members and enables families like mine with disabilities and others like the families from give kids the world etc to safely visit.
If Disney were to not have the mask mandate enforced for all guests over 2 it would be mayhem and everyone would be out for an exemption. I have a 3year old plus other kids in my care(fosters) who have sensory issues adhd autism etc if they weren’t capable of wearing a mask for thier safety and others we wouldn’t go.
When you have a disability or limitation with allergy’s, wheelchair needs etc I believe that you need to take accountability knowing what you can handle and what your needs are.
Disney makes the mask order known publicly in many places no one is going in blind to the mask wearing fact. Wear a mask or don’t go!

You have to be kidding a public health matter is not the same as racism and misogyny and discrimination toward the disabled. Give it a rest. Coming from a black woman and caregiver for multiple people with disabilities what you just said is ridiculous and offensive.

It is NOT discrimination. We are in a public health crisis right now so the good of everyone outweighs the wants of individuals. We live in a society. Nobody wants to wear a mask. Trust me, I work in the public and wear one all day at work, it sucks. But wearing a mask has shown to be affective in slowing down, if not stopping the spread of the virus. Having exceptions for anyone, opens up a whole can of worms because people(obvious by your post) are not reasonable. It's not personal like you are making it out to be. And frankly, for you to attack Disney like that is offensive. They have gone well above and beyond most other places in their accommodations for those with disabilities. And comparing a global virus, that can hit ANYONE, is NOT the same as discriminating against a group of people, like woman. I am trying to be kind, but you sound ridiculous.

Its blatant discrimination and once again heres why. Ive been vaccinated, already had covid and have my anti bodies measured at 10x vaccine immunity levels, will get temperature checked to show I dont have it, will self quarantine for two weeks prior to the visit, will have a negative PCR test. There is zero chance I can get or give it. Im zero risk to myself or anyone else which makes the policy just theater. Therefore still banning a disabled person is senseless, they blanket ban is discriminatory

Wheelchair users do not infect other people because they are using a wheelchair. One's gender (female) does not endanger others. Neither does one's ethnicity. Your examples are extremely flawed. Proper mask use protects others and helps to slow and stop the spread of the virus.

Quoting as this just needs to be said again and again and again

Discrimination means treating one person or group differently than another. Disney requires everyone over the age of 2 to wear a mask while on property. The fact that some people have difficulty wearing them doesn't mean Disney discriminates against them if they don't provide for an exemption. Someone with a disability who doesn't can't or want to wear a mask can still put others at risk. Disney can't require proof of immunity or disability and so an exemption would likely lead to a lot of people taking advantage if it means not having to wear a mask at Disney, especially as it gets warmer. If someone has problems wearing a mask, they should choose to wait to go to Disney for when masks are no longer required of them.

Do you think that they have the time or the ability to screen EVERY SINGLE PERSON to see if they really got the vaccine and are covid free? They can't ask for people's medical information. So the most logical thing to do is to make a universal rule for everyone. And they are not banning disabled people, plenty of disabled have gone to the parks in the last few months. Just because you don't want to have to wear a mask, does not mean that you get special treatment. Use your brain.

I agree with others that they are a privately owned property and can make and enforce whatever rules they want. If you want to swim in their pool, you play by their rules. You don't want to play by their rules, don't go. If you are allergic to cats do you go to someone's house who has cats and insist they get rid of their cats so you can come in? Of course not, you just don't go.

My mom has pulmonary sarcoidosis she relies on supplementary oxygen to live and guess what she’s been masking it up at Disney for years! My kids are 3 7 12 and 13 with everything from food allergies sensory processing issues adhd and autism to just being a toddler and they all wear there masks when we are outside our home.

if my kids couldn’t hack it we would hold just put our vacation on pause and go to the beach instead. Disney isn’t going anywhere so maybe just wait til then.

Just like Disney can’t look at medical
paperwork for the das they aren’t going to look at it to judge who does and doesn’t need to mask up and social distance that actually could be cause for a discrimination situation.
