I was just reading a thread about getting addicted to the DIS Unplugged, and I came up with an idea. I think we should go around the "room" and share our names, at what point we became addicted to the DIS, and what our favorite memory is. I'll start.

Hello, my name is Ashley, and I'm a DIS Unplugged addict.

I became completely hooked when I listened to the conversation about Mickey Milk and Chinese Faux Disneyland. My best memory was when the first ever e-mail I sent in inspired a segment.

Now your turn. :thumbsup2

Hello. My name is Stephan, and I am a Dis Unplugged and Disney Theme Park Addict. I first became addicted when Bawb passed away. I then went and listened to EVERY podcast prior to that within a 2 week time. Everyone's love and devotion to Bawb is what hooked me. I can't think of a better time to have become a fan. As for the theme parks, well thats been lifelong. I'm the one that drug my wife there for our honeymoon.

My name's Bill and I'm a podcast addict. I don't remember when I became hooked, but the time surrounding Bob's death really solidified my addiction.

My name is James and I become addicted shortly after Bobs passing. I have since went back and listened to all past shows and I keep all the shows on my ipod in case I need a pick me up.

My name is Michael and I am addicted to the podcast.

Even though I became a member of the DIS back in 2000, I began my addiction when I first got my iPhone and stared listening.

My name is John and I am severly addicted to the Podcast.

It all started while searching information regarding DVC back in Jan 08.

Then Bob died and the memorial video was posted.

I cried for a man I had never met, or heard speak.

The rest is history.

I'm hooked..........

help!

Hello, my name is Susan. I became addicted Dec of 08 when I was off work for 3 months after having bilateral knee replacement surgery....I could listen and relisten for hours. I have come to love Bawb too....and when I got a Dole Whip in May, he is all I thought of.

I love the pod cast crew...what a great show they put on!

Ok, if the truth be known, I am a pod cast junkie..can't live without it...I lie in bed with my laptop on and can barely get up for work. DH will yell, "What are you listening to and when are you going to sleep?" I listen until I fall asleep and it keeps on playing...like a kid with a book and a flashlight under the blankets after lights out. And when there isn't a show for a week I get withdrawal, I keep refreshing my computer...there must be something wrong...this is better than a soap opera...I love it when Pete gets on a soapbox and really gives it to someone...whether it is Disney or someone who is homophobic...I love you, Pete, you crazy man. Now I listen for baby Pharis (I don't know if that is how you spell it) and Julie. I sneak on the boards at work, and listen to the podcasts when I am doing paperwork...I feel like a stalker...don't want anyone to know how addicted I am...

My name is Cynthia. My best friend introduced me to the site when I wanted to do research for a vacation to WDW that I was taking with her. It was my first trip to Disney in about 15 years. Anyway, I was hooked then just seeing the great community that was here, and how wonderful and helpful everyone is. Getting a Zune as a gift 2 Christmas's ago was my final straw in my addiction to the DIS. :grouphug:

Hello, my name is Susie, and I'm a DIS Unplugged addict.
Been listening since dec 2006.
I became addicted while listening to Bawb talk about poop falling from a helicopter. I nearly crashed my car from laughing so hard. I think that was early 2007.
I miss Bawb.

Hi, Everyone! :wave2:
I am loving how after everyone states their name, they 'admit' their addiction :lmao:

My name is Chrysty (given my user name, I'm sure you're all blown away by that! :upsidedow ). I became a podcast addict around late January of this year. I listened to one to see if I'd like it. Then I started picking out episodes with topics that interested me (Poly review, certain restaurants, etc.). At that point, I wanted to get to know the back story and just started from the beginning! I'm about 2 or 3 shows away from being completely caught up and now I'm head over heels hooked to the show! I listen to it almost every day.

Even though I didn't listen when he was on, I cried like a baby when I got to the Bob Memorial shows (it was on the plane home from our last WDW trip). I wish I could have had the opportunity to meet him, he seemed like he was truly one in a million. :grouphug:

Hi! I am Shannon and I have been addicted since sometime in 2007 can't really remember anymore. I can't stay off the DIS either for more than a couple of hours.

Hi, I'm Barry, and I've been an addict since the summer of 2008. I was doing a lot of walking to get in shape and the music on my iPod just wasn't keeping my interest any more. I started searching iTunes for some podcasts to listen to and came across the Dis Unplugged. I downloaded a few episodes and low and behold - the walks became much more enjoyable. I started stretching my walks further and further so I could listen to more of the show. During the nicer months I'd easily go longer than a hour and more than 4 miles. During the winter up here in Wisconsin, I've had my iPod literally freeze up while listening. Let me tell you - that was a long, quiet, boring walk home. (I've lost almost 50 pounds listening to the DIS!)
The weird part is that it seemed like I had just started watching a soap opera with out knowing who the characters were. So while I got my weekly Disney information fix, I was also trying to figure out who everyone was, what their relationships were to everyone else, and of course, learn all of the inside jokes.
Thanks for all of the hard work that you do to make this show. All of us really appreciate it!

Hi, my name is Pia and I too am and addict. I started listening to the Pod cast some time in 2007. I love to hear Pete rant about one thing or another. Kevin's dinning reviews are wonderful. John's wit gets me all the time. Corey and Julie sharing their pregnancy and love the store tours and pictures. Bawb and his dole whips.... The way he messed up peoples names.:goodvibes Crying all day when I heard the news of his passing.:sad1: The whole team makes you feel like you are right there with them.
I have so many favorite memories it's hard to pick just one. "Wii Fat" really got me rolling :rotfl:
Thanks to the whole team and to the peanut gallery for keeping me informed and making me laugh every week.

I prefer to call this group "Friends of Pete W"

I actually like that idea better. lol. Sorry to steal your idea.

I had no idea so many people came on board after Bob's passing. I mean, it's been a year, so I shouldn't be shocked, but I am. Weird. :confused3

Hi! My name is Jim and I became addicted to the DIS Unplugged Podcast recently. I have been a member of the boards since 2008, but I had never listened to a podcast until about a month ago. I was hooked instantly when I heard the guys telling a joke about something and while everyone was laughing, I clearly heard Pete snort! Now THAT'S entertainment!

I remember looking at the runtime for that first podcast. It was something like 1hr and 15mins. long. I thought, before I pressed the play button, "Man! This thing is going to be long!" The show was over before I knew it. Pete was admonishing "Stay outta the damn lakesssssssss!" and I was already scrolling the iPodiddle to the next podcast.

I've been savoring each podcast since then. I just enjoy the obvious friendship that comes through in the roundtable. The news, stories and restaurant reviews (Hello Kevin ) are awesome! It's everything you'd ever need to know about all things Disney and other Orlando attractions, as well. I really appreciate the honesty in the discussions and reviews as well. I understand that sometimes when the crew is calling Disney on the carpet, its done out of love. You guys love Disney as much as we do and you like to put them on notice when quality or expectations start slipping. Bravo to you all for not being fan-boys/girls.

Had no idea how much money that would cost you did ya, babe? :goodvibes

I'm glad I finally convinced you to drink the Kool-aid. :thumbsup2

Great one, Stacy!!! :lmao:

My name is Candy, and I am a DIS Unplugged addict. The first show I heard was the anniversary show in 2007. I was hooked immediately. I seriously don't know what I did without it.

I laugh until there are tears everytime telling the Paula Deen on a butter high comment from John. Also, my dad has never listened to the podcast yet he compares any letdown with food to a sad, little crab cake.

My name is Tracey and I started listening to the show in 2007, along with some "other", biased, podcasters. When I upgraded computers this year, I only renewed one subscription on Itunes.

When I am depressed, I listen to the podcast as I go to sleep because it stops me having to replay other worries in my mind. The side effect though is that I too dream of Pete.

When I am worried about something, the podcast lets me keep 'balanced' as I go to my happy place, especially when it includes friends I have never met.

Hello, my name is Steve and I'm addicted to the podcast.:)

I've been listening since late 2006 and it all began innocently enough - just a little social listening. I can't say exactly when I got hooked, but I realized it when I started checking multiple times for the new podcast on release day. If it was late or skipped that week, I would begin to shake and go into podcast withdrawals!

Thanks podcast crew for a great show!

Hello, my name is Angie and I am addicted to the DIS! I found the DIS way back in 1999 when I was researching for our first Disney cruise. (My date is wrong over on the left because I lost my name and had to reregister during the infamous board crash). I fell in love with the IDEA of the podcast when I started reading about it on the DIS. But I had no mp3 player and finally I got one for Christmas a couple of years ago and have been addicted to the podcast ever since! I feel like you guys are part of my family!
