DIS Twigirls & Twiguys Coven dazzles on the Wonder Podcruise Meet

I finished Twilight over the weekend. I was reading until I literally couldn't keep my eyes open on Friday night. I really enjoyed it. Every time I started reading it, DP would ask why I was reading, when the movie was coming out the next day.
We ended up going to Target Saturday morning (around 11, because DP isn't a morning person). The shelves looked fully stocked. But we bought it and ran our other errands. Time ran short on Saturday and we ended up watching it on Sunday, during dinner. Every three minutes he would pause the DVD player and ask a question. My first answer was that I told him he should read the book. He said it would be a waste of time. By the end of the movie and my answers, he decided he should read the book....:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
We didn't watch the special features or anything, but I was expectantly disappointed in the movie. It's not that I regret watching it or buying it, but as normal, the print to screen transition...well sucked.

And for what its worth....aesthetically speaking.....y'all can have Edward. Jasper is my pick.

Soooo happy you liked the book.....they only get better! Jasper is baby daddy #2 for me!

Yay! Todd's one of us now! :thumbsup2

Todd:

At work, you need to read Midnight Sun online! That would be easier to get away with. ;) You should do that first, before New Moon, even if you aren't Team Edward.

Direct link: Midnight Sun

Are you team Jasper because of the book or because of the movie? ;) Either way, you'll be thrilled to learn that Jasper's presence becomes even more critical as the books move along.

Remember, you may find yourself struggling with New Moon. It's kind of slow, but keep with it. The rewards at the end are worth it.

lol- i vote for Team Jasper too! :rotfl::thumbsup2

glad you finished it. yeah, it wasn't an academy award winner or anything=- i guess we all envision what we might have done differently in the movie. hopefully the next ones will be improved.

i haven't watched the DVD yet, hopefully this weekend, just got too busy this weekend. although we did buy it!

So, I watched the movie, and I have to say I was very disappointed in it. I enjoyed the movie, don't get me wrong. But, I hate it when they completely change the point of things. When Bella saw Edward sparkly wasn't it a good time? In the movie, they were angry.

And, I thought in the movie overall, both Edward and Bella both were frustrated too much.

And, finally, nice brand recognition. :( Bella didn't have a great computer in the book, but in the movie she had an apple laptop.

Okay everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I've actually been totally oblivious about the dvd coming out over the weekend:confused3. We just returned from Disneyworld and Vero Beach on Saturday night, so the past few weeks have been filled with vacation stuff.
But, now I realize that I need to stop by Target on my way home to pick up the dvd! Even though I didn't really like the movie, I have been wanting to see it again.
Todd, I can completely understand your DP not being able to follow the movie without reading the book first. I said the same thing when I first saw the movie - "boy, if I hadn't read the book first, I would have no idea what's going on in this movie".
Anyway, now that I'm back to the real world and looking forward to the cruise and our meet, you'll all be hearing more from me!!!!:lovestruc

You are right about the tone of the meadow scene. I started rereading Twilight in anticipation of watching the movie this past weekend and while reading the meadow scene I noticed how much more fun it was in the book - Edward laughs a lot and there is lots of blushing on Bella's part but in the movie it is all angst and drama.

I also noticed that the movie is basically a black and white movie with some shades of grey thrown in. Never having been to the Pacific Northwest I don't know for sure but there has to be lots of color even if it is raining and cloudy. Bella talks about it being too green - she even mentions it in her sleep. IMO, the meadow scene should have been full of spring green color with some pretty flowers - at least to me. But that is why we have the book and my imagination, I guess. :confused3

Thanks, Dodie! I think that will be an excellent activity to do while "working" the rest of the week.

I hope you had a great time, miss lucky.:yay: Two trips less than two months apart. Wowwy.

Hey look! I used Multi-Quote!!! Wait, wrong thread to get excited about it.

I have to admit I didn't "feel the love" in the movie. I felt like the only reason I thought they were in love was because of reading the book.

That said, my DH said he liked it. I have never loved a movie where I have read the book first. I don't think my mind is open to change.

I went to Target last night and bought the dvd! We won't get a chance to watch it 'till this weekend, though. I also picked up some of the vampire-ish pins they had so I can wear them to our meet.:goodvibes
I think I might start re-reading Twilight, too. I was asking dh last night why James was after Bella so intently - I just couldn't remember what the reason was. I had to look back through it to remember that he was a "tracker" and just loved the challenge. That made me think of all the other little details that I had forgotten, so I decided to start it over again. So, the obsession begins again!:lovestruc

I started reading New Moon again to get ready for the movie. Reading the books a second time is so much fun!

I just finished the series again.

I just wish I could read Midnight Sun without the computer. It's just so hard on my eyes.

I'm halfway through Twilight again. I read the series once through. Then I re-read my favorite parts in each book. Now that I've started Twilight again, I may go through the whole series again - but I'll probably skip the middle part of New Moon.
