I'm not sure who maintains the points calculator and charts here on The DIS, but it sure would be nice if they would go ahead and update it with the 2010 points.

I have no idea what is involved with doing the update...it's probably time consuming.....and since whoever does it probably does it on a volunteer basis....I'm sure we can all make do;) looking at the charts on the dvc member website and adding up the points needed the old fashion way :scratchin

I actually used pencil and paper the other day to figure out a trip OH THE HORROR :rotfl2:

Personally, I am patiently waiting for Caskbill's planned to get updated, but there are soooooooooooooooooo many changes I feel bad for the poor guy. (He did take great pictures on his vacation though) :thumbsup2

I am sure it will take some time, but you get what you pay for. Till then a pencil and paper will have to do.

Now you really should be complaining that the one on the member site (which we do pay for) still has 2008. That is the one that gets me irritated.

It is so frustrating! We have been checking every day for the updated calculator. We can't wait for our 2010 trip, it sure would be nice to get an accurate representation of the points for our trip. It is so time consuming figuring out the points on paper. I'm always afraid I will mess it up.

What, you mean not everyone has an Excel spreadsheet with the details of 6 or 7 different possibilities of using their points? :lmao:

Must be because I'm a Mac user and had to give up my dependence on Caskbill's programs a few years back. (That, and the fact that there are 4 inches of snow on the ground here in ATLANTA in MARCH!! :scared1: )

It wouldn't surprise me if the DIS point calculator is on Caskbill's plate, too.

No, I don't have any control over that, but thanks for asking.

On the other hand, I have updated my DVC-Chart program to show 2010 points, and also it has VGC. There's also a special feature to show a comparison between the 2009 points and the 2010 points.

That's awesome!! Any idea when the planner will be updated?

The guy who does this does it for free, on his own time out of the goodness of his heart. If folks are really frustrated and want some sort of calculator it might be a lot more fair to complain to MS. You know, the folks whom we PAY good money to manage DVC for us.

I built my own little spreadsheet for VGC when the chart was first posted so I knew my options before laying down the cash for points. :teacher:
So excited now that some of Caskbill's data is updated. I'll have to go check it out!! :cool1:

I had one...but based on the old charts....color coded and everything. Sigh. Must make that a new project to update sometime...was kinda waiting on the new planners to come out! HA! Sounds like the tulips will be in bloom before they come tho! It will be time for the 2011 planners before they update what we need for this year!:sad2:

Yes, I must confess I have one, but just for my home resort so it wasn't too big of a deal to update it.
