DIS oldtimers (well newtimers too) where are you?

So excited to find this thead! :goodvibes I hadn't been over here to the community board in ages, but today I was getting updates about the moms panel search and thought I'd scroll through and see if I could find anyone from the old days. My how our community has grown!!

With tomorrow being 9/11 I always first remember being here on the DIS that morning trying to get in touch with our NYC disers to make sure they were OK. What a scary morning that was for so many of us. :( Seems like so long ago yet so fresh in my mind.

Thoughts and prayers are with everyone, I love you all. <3

I'm still around too. Not on the DIS much since our last 1/2 Marathon in 2009. I am now a grandmother and as a good Disney grandmother, she has been to Disney 2x and will be Trick or Treating in Disney in October. And she just turned 3.

Nice to see so many familiar names and to see some we have lost.

Take care, enjoy your family and friends. It's a new day every day!

Time to resurrect this thread. I have been away for years, but love seeing the old names I knew and loved. And thanks to WillyJ, I found out that cold corn is yummy!
My other Dopey-lover! Good to see your name.

RIP Mackey Mouse
Thanks for letting us know, Crissup. Many prayers for her girls.

I think of the DIS every 9/11, too. What a source of comfort it was here.

Back on the DIS today because we just decided to take a trip to Disneyland before DH deploys again. Kids are going to be thrilled, their first trip to DL.

Hi Dan!! :wave2: I'm glad I found this thread! I stopped coming here on the DIS for a while to help me with the Disney withdrawal and it helped. I haven't been to Disney since 2005! We are planning to go next year, so I'm back here on the DIS Resort Board. I needed to catch up and update myself before our trip. :)

I went back to school. I'm trying to get into the Nursing Program. I've just been busy with school and the kids. Everything are going good with me and the kids. How are you and your family? I hope everyone are doing fine. Take care.. :)

I miss the old Dis!! Remember when everyone was on all the boards and all "knew" each other??

Hey tnkrbell, I know how your feeling when ever i took a break from the Dis and come back it wasnt the same, but if you post a lot, you get to know new people with the old and you get that loving feeling (Righteous Brothers) back :rotfl:

Hi again, folks.

I just got to go to Disneyland for my husband's and my first anniversary. I can't believe it's been a whole year. This was our first return to DL since moving to CA. It was wonderful to be "home" again! But it also reminded me how sad I am to no longer be a WDW CM. Don't get me wrong- I love Northern CA which is far most interesting than FL, but no longer being able to hang out at the parks whenever I want to just breaks my heart!

If only the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Fransisco weren't such a pain to drive to from here- that would be the perfect place for me.

I got a job as a puppeteer at a little local family park- it's neat to get to do that sort of thing. I've always wanted to learn puppetry, and we get to be involved in the whole process of creating and performing the shows- although the process seems to be going at a snail's pace at the moment since the park isn't open a lot at this time of year. I've learned to do a one person puppet show of The Three Little Pigs.

I'm still doing community theater. I just got cast in the ensemble of a production of Brigadoon, and I did The Wizard of Oz last summer.

Hey folks. I haven't been visiting much either. For some reason I always seem to run into updates and such when I try to log on.

Happy anniversary Angie. Sounds like you are keeping busy. I have not been doing so. I really need to rethink this life of mine.

We are pretty much over our WDW infatuation after 8 trips. I suppose when and if we have grandkids it will all start over again. I know my sons both would return in a heartbeat.

I was just reading some stuff online about Delswife and thinking how much I miss Robin and some of the old folks who left or were banned. I never seem to click with many people here these days but that is probably how it is supposed to be. We go through cycles in life and I am in a different one now. Yeah, the one looking forward to medicare and social security. :scared:

Have happy holidays one and all.

Hi Angela, and happy anniversary. I can't wait to hear more about your visit to DL. I hope you met some princesses along the way.

I like seeing the familiar names on this post!! Hope you guys are all doing great!!! :)

:santa: Hello one and all. I love getting email notifications saying that this thread has been updated. Seeing all of the familiar names makes me smile. And my memory maker starts kicking into overdrive. I miss the old, old days (year 2000, 2001, etc.), but they do manage to live on in my heart.

It's funny/strange/lovely to see so many people who were 'kids' mention husbands...and kids!! And for others to see that you have grandkids now, it's awesome.

Our youngest of 5 is 14 and Ed and I have 4 grandkids. Life is good.

Happy Holidays one and all.

Hi Tia!:goodvibes
Ditto what you said.
I especially think about "DIS old times" at this time of year, when we were all gwtting ready for DISCon. That was special, and many long lasting friendships were formed. I remember how fun it was to finally put a face to a name (like "luvdsny"). It took us awhile to get used to calling people by their real first name! It was such fun!
Happy Thanksgiving, to all, old and new!

LOL! CarolAnnC and I had a cookout at out treehouse villa two months ago with TVT and Simon & Susan Veness. Being one who still always refers to people by their online persona, I still call Susan "Cleo". My folks couldn't figure out who Cleo was because everyone else called her by her real name. Carol finally asked her if anyone else still calls her Cleo. She said I'm the only one. LOL.
