DIS oldtimers (well newtimers too) where are you?

I find it so interesting that I can instantly "recognize" people I haven't seen in years! Where in our brains do we store that kind of thing?

I have just gone thru every page (25 so far). I just had to to see names that I haven't seen in years.

I have lurked since here was only 1 board, pre-Dan Murphy. I remember when he started his first trip report. Embryo and such. I don't recall if I ever got to read the entire trip report.

The 1st thing I remember getting hooked to DIS (wdwinfo then) was a lady (I forget her name now) telling of her recently decessed DH. She decided to take the planned trip to WDW. It was difficult for her. She rode Splash Mountain (her DH favorite ride) and when she saw the pic there was a sunbeam next to her. I cried.

Also of a TR from someone named Gwen. Her family took a neighbor and her DD to Shades of Green. Her TR just stopped. I'm not sure what happened.

It is great to see a happy thread again.

Hi Kim and Beccy. I didn't feel like posting much for awhile. I lost my Mom in January. She got very ill just before Christmas and we lost her the next month. I am doing better now and looking forward to AKL in May.

Hi everyone - it is amazing to think how long we've been DISing. I was just thinking of this last night and then I found this thread today.
It's like a whole little community and my family doesn't even know about it. DH and I are going in September and I was thinking of wearing lime green Mickey heads - then I realized he doesn't even know I'm a DISer!!!!!!

Hi Dan and everyone!!!!!!! I haven't been around much on the Dis because I've been busy babysitting my beautiful DGS, Christopher, who is now 15 months old!!!!! He certainly is a handful - I always think back to when DD was expecting him and some of the early tests indicated a possible problem - even though I was new to the DIS at that time, all of you rallied with your good wishes and prayers for him, and believe me, we appreciated all of them. He is beautiful and healthy - and I am old and exhausted LOL!!!!!!! Our next WDW trip will probably be during Jersey Week this coming November - so anyone who is expecting to be there should contact us - it would be great to meet you. Also, DD is expecting to bring her Concert and Show Choirs from the high school back to WDW in May 2007 so we can meet at that time also. Again, thanks for all your good wishes for CJ!!!!!!!

I have been around since 2000 or 2001, not sure which. I found this board planning my dream vacation that I had waited for all my life. My oldest was a senior in high school and I knew that if I didn't make the trip happen then there was a chance we would never make it as a family there. These boards made it a trip of a lifetime!! We have made it back several times (all of us) and I loved seeing old posters. There was something special about the boards in those days. I never posted much but lurked all the time and felt like I knew nearly everyone here. I really miss that. Good to see everyone!!!!

edit:My register date says 2002 but we went on our trip in 2001. I must have reregistered!
