DIS oldtimers (well newtimers too) where are you?

I am somewhere in the middle. I actually started reading the DIS in early 2002, when I was on bedrest and planning a family trip for that fall. Once the babies were born I was offline for along time and finally registered in Sept 2003

Just back home after a busy day.

I can't believe the response this thread has received, almost 250 and over 5,000 views!!! That's great. :yay: Sure is nice to see so many of those who only lurk here now, after being such active DIS'ers in the past. :cool1: Lots of good memories, from both here on the board as well as at meets, WDW, DL and elsewhere. :hyper2: :disrocks:

Let's see if we can get more folks checking in. :woohoo: If you know some folks who are still sitting out, send them a PM, tell them there are some old friends looking for them. :grouphug:

Wow..look at all these folks checking in!! I hardly post anymore, but I do drop in once in awhile and catch up. I'm with DaisyDebbie (HI!!!!!), I miss the old chat days :cool1: I have no idea how long I've been registered here, but I know that my youngest DD wasn't born yet and she'll be 5 this June..time flies!!!

Good to see you ALL :goodvibes

Since I have been Hanging around since 1999. does that make me an old timer?

Oldtimer here, since early 1999! I don't spend much time on the Community Board, but I still post on the trip planning boards.

It has been great to meet so many DIS folks: at WDW - DisCon 1 and 2 and several MouseFests; a couple of Swan/Dolphin Cheerleader weekends; Riddle-Con at Cedar Point; quite a few Chicago DIS meets at Gino's and to see Disney movies at the IMAX theater; even a Yankee Peddler meet in Towncrier's neck of the woods. :teeth:

Holly - the fall of 2001 was an interesting one for chatting! Robinrs...by golly, I WILL meet you one of these days! Thanks for starting this thread, Dan!

I just sent an email to both of them...we actually have some new additions to our family! My youngest sister, Andrea, had a baby girl named Isabella a few weeks ago (her DH is currently stationed in Iraq)...and Meggan (autochick) is pregnant with another girl..she is due late March/early April :goodvibes Mom says she is populating the world with "mini-me's" :rotfl2:

Hopefully I can get them to stop in and say Hi!

NANCY!!! I have MISSED YOU!!!!! It has been a long time since we've caught up!! I hope all is well with you and yours...ahhh the old chat days :thumbsup2

My most fond DIS memory is the DIS meet at the Boardwalk and the Illuminations Cruise in 2000 that GEM organized (all in the same day). Hi everyone

That was such a fun night! I think about that evening every time I'm strolling the Boardwalk or whenever I see your name pop up on here. We managed to have two full boats of DISers for the Illuminations cruise that evening, and many more for the meet at the Boardwalk afterwards. What a great memory!! I'm pretty sure Elisabeth was there that night, weren't you? And lots of others! Is Cleo around anymore? She was so helpful in putting that all together.

Chipperdini - We still need to get together for a Pizza Burger at the Dariette next time you travel north. Don't forget.

You can have the pizza burger. :crazy2: I prefer a hot ham and Swiss. :)

Brian plans to go up for the Ohio Mennonite Relief Sale in Kidron in early August, but I don't think I'll be able to go. I appreciate the thought, though. Thanks. :sunny:

A little late, but "hi" everyone! Dan, thanks for thinking of this thread. You're right, many happy memories and great times spent with Dis friends. Looking forward to more too!!

 Hi Dan. Hello everyone. :wave2: I do believe I qualify as an 'old timer'. pixiedust: I still drop by from time to time to check on my old stomping grounds. :flower3: It's nice to know that little changes when it comes to good friends. :grouphug:

How old do you have to be?

I don't even know when I joined. I guess I'll find out in a few seconds.

:offtopic: Charlie, did you check in on the new, oldtimers thread? :scratchin :coffee: Tee did. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Dan… I was hoping Willy would post on it first…you know..age before beauty. ;)

.

I guess I'm an old timer ;) I found The Dis in 1999 when researching our first family trip to WDW.

I remember many good times from back then. The Corn people & emu legs just to name a couple.

I also remember when there were just a few smilies. Now there are so many to choose from! ::yes::

I've taken some breaks here and there and I don't post very much (as you can see), but I still love to come and read everyone else's posts. :)

Hi everyone old and new. I guess i'm an old timer. I remember my first DISMeet at Skyline Chili and having helenabear pm me directions, i remember meeting Jen who had just had heel surgry and was in a cast, towncrier, and of course helenabear. It feels like that was forever ago. I'm now married, working at one place inastead of 50 zillion and actually know my way around central ohio a bit better.

I also remember almost being "flattened" on international bridge of EPCOT by a certain towncrier.

I guess I am a kinda old timer.
I also lurked for a long time before I joined.
I think I actually joined because I wanted to join a DIS Meet in July of 2000. That is when I first met you Dan. I thought it was so funny when you posted pictues of that DIS Meet years later. I can't believe Miranda was a little baby at that 1st one.
My how time flies!
