Hello, Digi-Scrappers! Are you ready for a new challenge? Here it is:

DIS Digi-Scrapping Challenge #20: Story Collage!

First, a story.

I have a big problem. I take a lot of photos. For example, I took almost 400 pics in one day at Disneyland this past summer. Yeah. And I want - no, need - to use as many of them as possible in my LOs! As a former professional photographer, the importance lies on docummenting as much of an event as possible in search of that perfect shot. And as a current professional mommy, I cannot dispose of any of the extra pics that tell the story, because I simply can't. Sad, but true!

So, I have become the master of what I call "story collage". And thus, your challenge. To tell the story in photos (oh, and with bit of journaling, too!).

I'll go easy on you. :goodvibes Here goes!

Your Theme: Anything from a Disney Park or Resort, of course! It can be of your favorite restaurant or type of food, how you love the parade (or parades), your least favorite ride and your experience on it, the best resort you have stayed in ... whatever. It's your story to tell!

For the Photo Collage:
  • There must be a minimum of 5 photos in your LO, but there is no maximum, but all must be the same theme
  • The photos can be clustered, lined up, scattered, in a grid...
  • The photos can be matted, framed, or left plain.
For the rest of the LO, you must:
  • use a paper as your background (no photos, please)
  • have a title and place it in a box or frame
  • include one Mickey Head embellishment that you make out of something else - be creative! (I made mine out of buttons.)
  • journal about the story
  • use one stamp

And the two lucky winners - one chosen by me and the other by my kids - will receive ...

(insert drum roll here)

... a kit of your choice designed by Jeni Hopewell at Scrap Matters! :woohoo: Here's the link to her store: http://scrapmatters.com/shop/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=40. Make sure to check out her stuff - it's really great! (And a big thanks to Brittney for arranging this for me.)

Okay now - I hope that I have everything here. If not, I'll add it on later. Have fun, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!!!

Entries must be submitted by Midnight, September 2. EDT in order to be included for prize selection.

Here is my example of the challenge:

Great way to use those photos! I am with you, I want to print out so many that I just have to wonder...how big can one scrapbook be?!
LOL

I am not sure if I will get to play this week, either. I am working on a digital calendar and it is taking longer than I thought!
But I like this challenge!!!

Awesome. Great challenge. Will have to think about this one a bit. Great prize. :)

Oooh, this fits perfectly with the page I was about to do!! This is my kind of challenge! (In case you haven't noticed, I take a LOT of pictures, too! and I also can't delete one precious photo, even if it is bad!)

I'm the same way about photos, especially of my son, I feel like I'm deleting a piece of him! Fun challenge.

This is what I came up with -- this one came pretty easy for me! All elements from Britt-ish Designs Space Ranger kit.

Love that! What a great way to focus on the photos and still include the fun scrapbooking elements! But where is your mickey hiding?! I give up!

:)

He is made out of green brads that match the background paper. See him now?

Now I do!
:)

Love it (okay, I can see where if I ever do get around to making a real album, hidden mickeys will be a must...my dd would LOVE that!)

labdogs - Wow - are you FAST!!!! And it took me a while to find your Mickey. Talk about hidden in plain view, huh? And I love the DIS green, too. Great job!

Sometimes I'm fast, not usually! This challenge just happened to be perfect for those pictures and they were the next page I needed to do for my book! I want this book finished by September 19!!!

You are me! I took about 4000 pics on my last week-long trip, plus 220 photo pass pics (that I turned into over 2000!) So, yea, I don't know the meaning of "too many pictures!"

Thanks for hosting, quiltymom!

Labdogs, I love your color block page. I did that a lot when I was doing paper scrapping. I thought the screws to hold down your frames went great with your theme.

I use a lot of photos on most of my pages too. This will work out great!

Thank you soooo much for this awesome challenge. Multi-photo LOs are CRUCIAL to getting my Disney trips completed! This was just the inspiration I needed!!

Thanks again!! SUPER FUN CHALLENGE! I might have to do it again! HAHA :rotfl:

I hear ya! I may end up doing it again, too! :lmao:

Britt -- I love your pics and I love that you guys are all wearing matching navy sweatshirts! It makes the page that much nicer with the coordinating colors. That paper is adorable with the pictures, too. Love it!!

Christy -- I don't see a picture...

WOW - great work so far! I'm glad that y'all are having fun with the challenge. It's been fun on my end to see what you are doing.

Labdogs - Ya know, I've always steered away from that particular CM collage template, just because I haven't liked the long skinny spots. But after seeing how you did yours, I gotta give it another try. It always amazes me how I can so easily disregard somthing without giving it a try. So, thanks for the push!

Britt - I need to take a class from you on how to do your fun style of embellishment! I need to learn to think more "outside of the box" when it comes to that. Your LO is just so much fun, and I do love how simple it is with all that is going on! Great job.

Christy - OH. MY. GOODNESS. I almost jumped into the monitor when I saw your LO! I mean, just look at all of that sugar and chocolate. I don't want to have to wait 14 more months (or whatever it is!) to go on my cruise! (Insert whine here.) I especially liked the chocolate splat at the bottom of the page. Oh, and I just saw the smudged choco heart! I gotta go get me that stuff. Yum Chocolate! It's a great LO - I like the slant. I'm going to have to try doing one like that.

Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see more!!!!

Brit, those pics are SO FUN!!! Love it! (is that your mom? She is very pretty!)

Christy, can I just drool for a minute...wow! That is awesome!

Jessica - Wow you were fast with that!! I could feel your creative juices over here! LOL Great lo!

Britt - you guys always look like you have such a ball at Disney - it must be awesome hanging with you all! LOL

Christy - ahhhhh... the chocolate buffet!!! That has to be one of the things i am looking forward to this week!! Great job!

Quiltymom, iam going to do my best to do this tonight or tomorrow -- i am not packed at all, but i did that on purpose.. i have tomorrow and sat. off - and if i had all my packing done, i would be sitting here driving myself crazy waiting til sunday!!! So, i will definately get this done before i leave -- just don't give away my prize on me if i am lucky enough to win! LOL I will be back next Sunday night (or maybe Monday - i will be tired on next Sunday! LOL)

I love everyone's layouts! You ladies are so talented.

This was fun!

Stacy,

I haven't started packing yet either. I am still freaked out by the storms out there, but I know Disney will take care of us. I can't wait for this cruise!!!
