DIS Digi-Scrappers Challenge #22 (09/10 to 09/16)

Here's mine.....If you click the credit link, it gives credits for the awesome pictures I swiped from Susan0326 and Mark Barbieri, but I just wanted to give them credit up front again. DH had the camera during this show and didn't take any pictures.......what's up with that?:confused3

They should be Disney related really. Thanks for bringing that up Britt. Sorry I forgot to put this in the rules! Had my mind on the interview! By the way I go the job!!!! Not sure when I start yet but I'm very excited. :yay: Don't worry if you've posted a non-Disney LO. I didn't put it in the rules at the start so you can still play!

Loving everyones LO will comment on them later as I'm supposed to be working at the moment!

so, why do they have to be disney related? I know this is the disboards and all, just curious. they don't seem to have all been in the past. maggie

These challenges started as a way to inspire us all to get our Disney layouts done. It's always been Disney-themed layouts for the challenges since they began. People post lots of non-Disney layouts in the other thread for digi-scrappers, so maybe that's what you're referring to? :confused3 But the challenges have always been about Disney layouts. There's plenty of challenges on other websites for all kinds of themed layouts, and plenty of us enter those as well....these challenges here on the disboards were a chance to showcase our love of Disney and digi-scrapping. So that's why. Make sense? :goodvibes

sure. I haven't been digi scrapping for long so I have only seen these challenges. I will post my pages on the other thread so as not to confuse anyone. :) I am currently out of disney pics to scrap so... (bummer I know :) ) maggie

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the challenges have always been Disney related since Brittney began the challenges last April. Sometimes the challenge itself was very specific to Disney, such as a Disney ride, lyric, etc., but even if it's a challenge with template provided, etc., the layouts were always supposed to be Disney related. I always thought they were Disney related just because this is the DIS board. Perhaps Britt or someone will stop by to give a better answer. In response to this question being asked in the past, Brittney posted:
Quoted from DesignerBrittney: "They have to be Disney-related. Sorry, we always forget to specify that. They can be Disney on Ice, a Disney-themed Birthday party, Disney Halloween costumes, Disney Cruise, your Disney Collection. As long as its Disney, we're happy."

Don't know if this helped you or not, Maggie.

so where might I find non disney challenges? :) maggie

Most major digital scrapbook sites have challenges on their forums. Most have some sort of posting bonus of a mini kit.

Why not just have 2 categories? One for Disney-related LOs and another for "everything else"? That way everyone could join in the fun!

quiltymom - Love the LO! That kit is just perfect.

nicurn - Love the changes you've made and great pictures of a fun day out.

Fran98765 - Great pics and that kits is adorable!

Angel-Exp624 - Love the changes and those pictures are fab!

Carolinagirl - Great LO! I was there too on that day! And you're right it was hot!

BriarRose59 - Great photos. I'd LOVE to go on that tour!

desiab - You're LO is more than worthy - it's fab! That photo of your little girl is adorable! (P.S. the font is Century Gothic - it's one of my favs!)

ngneer98 - Love the changes you've made. That show is amazing! Hubby's just should not have the camera! I learnt that this weekend at a family wedding. I mostly have pictures of feet!!!!

Thanks for playing along everyone! :thumbsup2

Susan: Could you tell me how you made your graphic usable?? I'm trying to put it on a LO I'm working on. I'm guessing you had to extract it from the white background?? Also when I'm saving it from the net it's really small. But I can't figure out how to get the full sized one out of the pdf file I downloaded to use it. Any help??? PLEASE!!!

I was just thinking how refreshing it was not to have to do a Disney-related LO for once, even though I haven't been doing these challenges for long and that I also had a Disney theme for my challenge. So, not having been around from the beginning I just thought that they were to help us get pages done, Disney or not. I have about 90% more non-Disney pics that I need to scrap and need to be motivated about than I do Disney. I'm just lucky enough to have had a Disneyland trip to have photos available.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Back to the thread...

Fran - I laughed so hard when I saw those monkeys! What a fun kit. You've worked it well with the template. And your little one is such a cutie.

Desiab - Welcome! And what a lovely LO. You DD is beautiful. I love the way you gave everything the same warm tone.

Briar Rose - Cool zebra alpha! What a fun tour that must've been. Maybe one of these days the kids will want to do a tour. There's so much to do at Disney ...

ngneer - you really got a lot of pics in that LO! I love that. And there's so much going on at that show to get in a page. Your alpha's great.

Angel - Talk about Polka Dot Heaven! It's a great theme to use for Minnie.

desiab - You're LO is more than worthy - it's fab! That photo of your little girl is adorable! (P.S. the font is Century Gothic - it's one of my favs!)

Bernie I wasn't clear in my first post. I am not sure if I should leave the title in Century Gothic or try something else. What do you think?

Lauren, I think there is one with a transparent background. I'll try to find the link for you. Let me look. It might not be until after I'm at home. Whatever I did was just an open and drag kind of thing. I didn't have to extract. I just added a drop shadow to it.

I see! I think all this cold medicine I'm taking is making my brain go fuzzy! I think the font is fine. As I said it's one of my favourite fonts!

Hey Lauren! I'm back at home where PSE is .... Save the logos as a PDF and then open the PDF from your software. It will then open them with transparent backgrounds for you to drag to your page. Let me know if doesn't work for you.

HTH!

Great, Great layouts out there already. Seems the template is a hit! :)
Here's my take! Thanks for the challenge-

As others have said, there are many other places online where you can scrap anything for challenges. What makes this challenge special, for me anyway, is that it is always Disney related. This IS the DISboards after all. :) I don't know what the point of the DIS challenges would be if they weren't for Disney subjects. :confused3

so where might I find non disney challenges? :) maggie

You'd probably enjoy checking out some of the challenges over at ScrapMatters.... there are template challenges, topic challenges.... people even post links to their challenges on their blogs.... Here's the link to the forum... there are several different challenge threads..... jump right in. :)

http://scrapmatters.com/forums/

I know it's kind of a bummer when you run out of Disney pics because this is such a fun place to play.... :) I've been there before too... And actually I'm almost finished with my most recent trip pics, so I may be out again soon. So, I told DH we MUST take a trip to DL again before long so I can keep playing with my friends on the DIS. LOL! :) Or I find myself planning my kids' Halloween costumes and birthday parties around Disney themes so I can use the pics for these challenges (yes-- I obviously need help!)

I still post my non Disney LOs in the general LO thread to share....even if I don't always participate in the challenges. So be sure to keep sharing! :goodvibes
