For us DIS-CON Singles (and those who would like to join us):

For those of you who would like to do a "group thing" for our "Dining Around The World" convention feature, please vote on the country where you would like to eat. We'll do a "majority rules" after about a week, I'll get a final talley of people, and make the PS for the group. Sound good to everyone?

When would this take place?

I won't be solo, but I voted for Japan just in case we are able to join you guys. ;)

The "Dining Around The World" feature is part of the convention package. It's on Saturday, 12/01 from 5-7pm before the Illuminations Dessert Party. And it's not just limited to single travellers. I just thought it would be nice for some of us to get together during that time, especially if we don't want to eat alone.

When I read the initial information on DIS-Con, the only choices were LeCellier and France (oh what is that name).

Has this changed?

Debbie

According to a post by Linda, all the poll restaurants (countries) would be available.

Thanks Steve. :) I'm not sure where we'll end up...but I think Japan is still my first choice.....if I want the kids to actually eat! ;)

I was trying to figure out a way to get some ideas for us for dinner. The poll idea works great! I voted for Japan, but anywhere is really fine. I like the idea of the group thing, too. I don't want to eat alone, and I wouldn't want to "horn" in on a group already set for dinner. Preplanning some of these things will help that. Thanks, Steve.

I thought this might be the easiest way. I voted for France, but Japan might be condusive to a group, since they seat groups of people together around the grills. Makes really no difference to me, either. I just wanted to get the ball rolling. I'm kind of an "all my ducks in a row" type guy.

This sounds interesting, thanks for starting it Steve!

I voted for Canada because I've never eaten there. The restaurant, not the country. ;)

Majority rules works fine for me. :)

Kim

Although I won't be at WDW by myself - I'll be doing the convention events as a solo DOSer.

I chose Chefs de France - though I've heard Japan is very good, too.

Hi Steve! Great idea!

I have voted for France. I don't believe I would dare to go there all by myself.

Wherever you all choose, it will be lots of fun to dine around the world with such crowd!

:bounce: :bounce:

If things continue the way they are, looks like we may be headed for France! I expect everyone to polish up on their Francais  in the meantime.

Such as: "Hey sister, go sister, soul sister......

Never mind. :D

In case you want to look at the dinner menu (remember that the price is included in the convention package) here's a link.

As promised, I'll wait until August 7th and then ask for names and number of people. I'll make the PS soon after. How's that?

Why isn't time going faster??

Coquilles Saint Jacques, crevette et tarte tatin!

Now I am really hungry!

The extent of my french comes from Miss Piggy-"Moi?", and of course, that song, Steve!!!! LOL But, I'll muddle through. If nothing else, it will provide a good laugh for our table!! ;)

I chose Le Cellier because I would like to try the famous cheese soup. But I checked the menus and the other places look great too!!:jester:

Thanks for starting this thread, Steve. I would like to be counted in on this party, too. (Luckily, I voted for France.)

With less than four months to go, I am finally starting to get excited.

Frank

You are more than welcome to join us, Frank. The more the merrier!

I'm gonna leave this up for one more day to see if anyone else wants to join us, then I'll go ahead and make the PS this week sometime, okey dokey?

I've never eaten at Chefs de France, but I've noticed that it looks pretty formal.

Are people planning on changing out of their walking shoes and shorts, into something a little better before we meet for dinner?

Are the DisCon Commandos planning on wearing fatigues? ;)
