Dis Breast Cancer Survivors Part IV - GAGWTA

Hey ladies! Sha....wish I could be there to help you eat up that cake!! it is beautiful!!
Ols368, I was diagnosed in October 2010 and at that time my tumor was 2.5 cm which pushed me from being a stage 1 into a stage 2. I had missed my mammo which I should have had in January of that year, and was so angry with myself :sad2:
I will post a few pictures here from our trip, in various threads through out DIS, I have pictures and will be putting in more, like in the Disneyland Hotel thread, and the food thread, if you want to see more look in my profile for my posts and you will see which ones have pictures :) I am recovering from our trip, it was so wonderful but pretty tireing. Don't think I would attempt anything so long and complex again. Hubby and I want to sneak off in late October by ourselves and actually relax! don't know if we will get all the way to Disneyland again though as we are planning on taking another 2 of our grand daughters down there next year again. We did 3 trips to Disneyland in 1 year this time and it was a lot!

grandson in Old Town Sacramento. we loved it there and it's one of the places we want to go back to in October and stay at least 3 days!

Oh, you are so very welcome! Glad i was a little helpful. Sometimes I hesitate to say much, as I don't want anyone to think their results will necessary follow mine. Each case is very different. My sister's area of concern was much more extensive in 2004 right after I was diagnosed. She had to have a surgical biopsy to have it removed in total and biopsied.

She had no cancer, but it was scary.

From what I have read, every woman has some calcifications, especially as we age. What they term suspicious is an area of clustered calcifications where they are small and irregular in shape. I can't remember much about how mine looked, and that was in the pre-digital days.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow and checking in on the DIS. When is your appointment?

I will be going to WDW at start of F&W. I was able to get the Southwest deal for my return flight. It was a deal, but I did not even see it until after 9 pm during the 24 hour sale the other day.

I happened to see a post about it on the DIS budget board. Gotta love the DIS!

Smiley, we were posting at the same time! Love, love, love your pictures. Thanks so much for posting them, and for the commentary!

They are wonderful, and it is so wonderful to see you and your handsome husband smiling so much.

It looks like you had a dream vacation.

I will be checking out the rest of your pictures for sure.

I also need to post some NYC pictures, but not tonight. It is our 34th wedding anniversary. Are we really this old?

Bought a new washer/dryer last night. What a romantic weekend, right?

At least I got my Apple store fix today, always more to learn (loved our one to one session even though it was only a 30 minute one), and now DH wants a Macbook Air to use at home and remotely to sign on to the server and work and his desk top.

After the expensive trip to NYC, and the appliance spree last night, I think we should be eating peanut butter for awhile!

Happy Anniversary!! :goodvibes we will make 32 years this December, like you I can not believe we are old enough to be married that long!! lol.... Dear daughter who was at home while we were away killed our dryer :( good thing it's summer and I have a clothes line! I don't mind using it at all, I love how everything smells when you bring it in, but she is not used to it and seriously missing the dryer. Funny thing is she killed our last washing machine and I have been nagging her for years about over loading both. I think it will be at least September before we get a new dryer, just to make sure she figures out about over loading.... :joker: I hope they start to do the food and wine at Disneyland again, they stopped during the big renovation of California Adventure, but now that's complete I hope they do it again. I would love to do that!!
I've been having some really severe vertigo the past few days, had it a few months ago but it went away. Woke up with a headache and all woozy this am so of course had a panic attack that the only place on my body they have not scanned is where the cancer has gone to hide :sad2: I see my oncologist in exactly 1 month, and have a cat scan of my trunk and an ultrasound of the area of cancer before that, I will see how this goes, if it gets worse I'll go see my gp and see what he says. I'm supposed to be getting a scope of my esophagus and a manometry in early sept as well, and have some major dental appts coming up. I think I would rather go back on holiday again.....

Smiley, love the pictures! Looks like a dream trip for sure! You have inspired me to hope for another trip out west, would love to spend some time in northern California. Also nice to see DL again - wasn't CarsLand just amazing?!? And your DGS is such a cutie! Thanks for the pictures

Snappy, your NYC trip sounds amazing - looking forward to seeing your pictures. And happy anniversary!

Ols, hoping for good results for you.

Sha, such a fun cake!

Minijean, I'm sure you are having a great time on your trip

Lisa, how are you doing?

I've been following the Olympics, really like the gymnastics and swimming, not so much into track though....probably won't watch as much next week.

Hope everybody had a good weekend - GAGWTA!!

It's benign!

Got the results this afternoon.

So relieved!

Thank you so much for all the support.:thumbsup2

OMG!! I am so jealous! to see Monet with your own eyes..... so amazing. Beautiful pictures, you had good weather too! It's funny to see Grand Central Station for real, after seeing it in so many different movies! The best one was recently the new version of Arthur! Please tell me you soaked in that tub with a glass of wine at night with that view!?

I have to admit to being partial to Monet, even over Van Gogh. I got "stuck" in the first room and could not move because it was wall to wall Monet. DD16 came to find me and said Mom you really need to see the other rooms.

Those hours at this museum were magical. When I go back to NYC, whenever that will be, I will plan the visit around a visit here.

We all loved soaking in that tub. It was crazy deep. The view from that room took my breath away. No wine but there was Blue Moon involved.

If I ever win the lottery I am buying a residence in that building. Perfect location to everything. Able to scoop up good buys for both girls from the stores.

I know there must be a lot you have to put up with living in Manhattan. But the benefits! Expensive too. No real grocery stores. My little trip cost a fortune but it gave me joy.

I love that bathroom, Snappy.

Talk about a great window view.;)

It seems unbelievable I know, but it really did look like this. . .

It was a lot of marble and cool to the touch, to warm your little toes during the winter, or in our case when we had the air conditioning full-blast, the thermostat driven heater blew warm air on the floor right where you stand in front of the vanity.

Felt like pure luxury.

There was also a kitchen stocked with water, soft drinks, Nespresso pods for the coffee, and cream, and a nice little washer drier combo in a big closet that was so cute. A sweet smiling little Asian fellow dropped off snacks several times a day, presenting them on a tray. It was adorable. They even had a pressing service for 5 items on arrival day. We checked in Sunday, and the clothes I gave them to press were ready in an hour.

Never had such service, even at the Waldorf in Orlando. There were personal assistants that called you before you left home, and were available to help with directions, maps, and recommendations for restaurants, shopping locations, etc.

They offered the use of the house car, that silver Maserati. It is the ONLY way to arrive at the Met. We were very lucky that it was available when we were ready to head out.

DD22 left one morning for the subway to Brooklyn and the house car driver called out to her, offering her a ride. I had not told her about the house car being made available to guests. She did not stop just kept on walking down Fifth Ave, she told me no way was she getting into a car with a stranger, even if it was a Maserati. She called herself a dweeb for turning it down, lol.

Gosh we had a lot of laughs.

Not sure we are really ready for the big city.

This hotel is listed in lastminutetravel.com, which is where I found out about it. I highly recommend researching this one. We got a deal as the end of the summer is apparently a slow period. I want to take my DH.
