Dis Breast Cancer Survivors Part IV - GAGWTA

Lisa - sending you :sunny: thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear you are feeling weak. Hope you can get cleared for the chemo.

Update us when you can.

Blessings to you

GAGWTA, Ladies!

Good thoughts coming your way, Lisa!! :wizard:

Minijeanie - We ate at Bubba Gump's at CityWalk when we went to Universal a couple of years ago. It was great fun. The food was pretty good, too. I was disappointed that I was too full for dessert!

Hello ladies!

Well I finally got some good news on the bone marrow. The good news is that they don't see anything scary in the biopsy. The oncologist theory is that I have some chronic condition that periodically is causing my bone marrow to shut down and just not make red blood cells. My platelets are slightly elevated and that is perplexing too. But nothing cancerous. The bad part is that I went through the biopsy for no good reason!

So I got a call from my primary care today. Because I had elevated sed rate tests and elevated CRP, they suspect an autoimmune disorder of some time. I am next going to be referred to a rheumatologist. I can hardly wait for that. I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired! But its nice to not feel alone and you ladies help with that.

Sounds like a few are going to Food and Wine! I am going the last week of October. Staying at Old Key West. I would have splurged the points to stay at Beach Club or Boardwalk but we are saving points for a two bedroom for a family trip in January. So we didn't even ask about availability. I do love being able to walk over to Epcot in the evenings for a little food and wine! This trip should be easier than last since my foot is better and I won't have to rely on a wheelchair pusher. Especially since my daughter won't be going - she will be in school. And my husband is a lousy pusher.

God bless you all!

Thanks minijeanie. If you're looking for an alternative to Yachtsman, we like Charley's Steakhouse on 192 in Kissimmee. It's not that far off property. Yes, it's expensive but still cheaper than Yachtsman and the portions are larger. We think the food tastes better, too.

Saw the doctor today. CA125 numbers are down again. I had to have a magnesium infusion as well as an iron shot along with the chemo. Have to go back for the second iron treatment on Wednesday. I'm hoping it increases my energy a bit.

:cool1: for both Patsmom and Lisa!! I am praying both of you will continue to feel better and better, and get good test results! :grouphug:

Lisa, glad to hear that your numbers are down! I hope the iron treatments will give you some of your energy back. Sending lots of good thoughts your way :wizard:

PatsMom, yay for good results on the biopsy! Sounds like your doctors are making progress, hopefully any future testing will be more tolerable.

Minijeanie, I'll second Lisa's suggestion for Charley's, although it's been quite awhile since I've been there I do remember it being very good.

Dancind, great news that you won't need chemo or rads!

Smiley, your trip is coming up fast - are you ready?

We got home Wednesday morning, still trying to recover! LOL, guess we did more walking than I realized. I have a ton of pictures to sort thru, will post some soon. It was a great trip. Got back to reality today with a CT scan, won't have results on that until next week.

GAGWTA!! :goodvibes

so many good thoughts and prayers for your CT scan Cheryl!! I can not wait to see some of your pictures!! 2 weeks till we leave :scared1: no, I am not ready!! lol... Did I mention or did you read if I did...we decided to scrap the Las Vegas portion of our trip and spend a few days right at the Disneyland Hotel? We will do Vegas sometime when it's just the 2 of us. I don't see it being the place to take a 3 year old. Try to get rested up this weekend, maybe relax by spending some time uploading pictures..... :rolleyes1

Thinking of you Lisa.

Cheryl, hope you get good news on the scan. Can't wait to see your pictures!

Patsmom, glad that nothing bad showed up from the biopsy, sorry you have to go for yet more diagnostic tests. You have had more than your fair share.

Smilie, how excited you must be looking forward to this extended trip. I think you made a good choice to postpone the Las Vegas portion. It will be there when you are ready to go later.

Dancind, glad you are skipping the rads and chemo, and that the infection is clearing. Hope the swelling responds to therapy.

Minijeanie, enjoy your trip as well! Stay hydrated!!

Ann, hope Avery is still doing well. I always read his updates on Caringbridge.

I am still working with my pictures, and syncing them amongst my iOS devices. I need some serious help. My one to one guy agreed yesterday that I need to move to Aperture. Too many pictures in my library. And now he suggests shooting in raw. I think I am in over my head.

DD22 was offered a three month internship last week in the Brooklyn office of a Fortune 300 company after several interviews, which will lead to a job! The internship is to work with different departments to learn the company and how things work, but the job is sales associate for financial products. Since her major is finance, it might be a good fit. She was impressed with the people.
I think it will be challenging but likely she will receive good training that she can apply elsewhere, if she does not stay at this company. You gotta start somewhere. The days of working for one company throughout your career are over.

Hot hot hot here.

Thinking about a Food and Wine trip but I can't get into it. Too many distractions.

GAGWTA!

:thumbsup2 Lisa - good to hear your numbers are down and that you could get the chemo. Hope the infusions help give you strength.

:thumbsup2 Pats Mom - great news on the biopsy. I think you need an invasive procedure rest and time off too.

:thumbsup2 Diana - great news about the chemo and rads

:thumbsup2 - Laurie - great news about your dd internship. Sounds like she is off to a good start. Did her dbf take the mcats? Ds20 friends did this past week and she told ds she is glad they are over.

Cheryl - sounds like you had an amazing time. Cant wait to see your pics. Wishing you all the best with the ct scan results.

smiley and minnijeannie - I bet you are both anticipating your trips

Well I saw another thread about the epcot rest. opening up and the candlelight stuff being able to book on tues. So I made my first adr today...a lunch at Le Cellier.

My game plan is to book the candlelight on tues. Last year it took me 40 tries just to get into the holding que and then another 30 min . on hold at least. Dh says we can see Whoopi since we saw Neal before.

Hope everyone has a good week end.

GAGWTA.

I made this the wallpaper on my iPad. It was the view from our top floor balcony at Boardwalk.
