Sha, happy birthday from me too! Hope you have a great day and an even better year!

Made it through the marrow biopsy but they will not be doing that to me again without drugs! It was pretty awful and still hurts. My cysto did go well - no signs of the cancer returning but he does think that I should return to maintenance treatments in September. He would have started them now but wants to wait and see if my bone marrow biopsy results change anything. And he also said that this way I could have the summer off!

The bad news is that if the side effects get worse, I may have to lose my bladder anyhow. Sometimes the treatment is as bad as the disease I have been told. And in my case, that seems to be true. The cancer isn't returning but the treatments to keep it away are crippling my bladder. But I will cross that bridge when I come to it this fall!

Getting ready for one last fundraiser for the Relay for Life tomorrow. Then next weekend is the Relay. My daughter is taking Sunday off work so that she can be my designated walker through the night. I usually frown on her taking any time but she was able to trade days off and so won't really lose any money. And it is a good cause. I would so like to see a cure for cancer in my lifetime! And the American Cancer Society does good things locally with getting people to treatment and the Hope Lodge in Boston has been a lifesaver for at least one family I know who is dealing with a child who has cancer. They are able to stay near the hospital at no cost so that their daughter isn't alone and they have a place to prepare meals, etc. Truly a great thing!

LMP - I know what you mean about children who can be mean. My daughter is very supportive usually and is actually very protective of me. But she sometimes gets a bit mad when the disease prevents me from doing things. And she did get irritated with my frequent bathroom trips on our last trip to Disney. Of course part of that was because she had to come with me due to my being in the wheelchair!

We are looking forward to a great weekend weatherwise here in NH. Hope all of you ladies are getting some good weather too.

Now back to my normal posts

PatsMom - hope the onc. visit went well yest. Thinking of you. You have a lot on your plate right now.

Diana - hope the infections is clearing up

Lisa - hope the transfusion is helping.

Laurie - how is your dd liking Jersey? Has she discovered pizza and bagels yet?

Dh old co worker whos wife just got dx with bc who I told about here ended up having a mastectomy instead of the lumpectomy they told her she would have. They said it was a lot worse when they went in and she also had a lot of lymph nodes out too. She went to Sloan in NYC. Her dh is making some jokes that I told dh I would cry if dh said those to me. I guess its his way of coping and even his wife didnt like them either. Maybe dh needs to give him some words of wisdom. He already heard everything with me from dh before etc.

Well I have most of my teaching material done. Now I need to work more on the decoration material. Trips to Party City and Michaels Crafts this week end.

Whats everyones week end plans? We will just go to church and have a bbq sun. Dh has asked for peace and quiet. He has a big project he is working on.

Thinking about my nov/dec trip and the adrs. Just found out the Candlelight Processional Narrarators when we are there will be Neil Patrick Harris (we already saw him before), Whoopi Goldberg and To Be Announced. I will ask dh who he wants to see. He also said we could go to MVMCP. Since he said he didnt want to go again and we havent in a long time.

Hi Ladies.....just a quick hello from SanDiego! Our vacation is starting to wind down. Alaska cruise was incredible, absolutely perfect weather and we did so many different things. Had fun in Seattle at Pike Market. Spent a few days in Portland visiting with my brother and family. Disney was, of course, wonderful. Spent a day at Universal. We are in San Diego now having a great time. Sunday night we are headed back up to Anaheim so we can go to Cars Land on Monday - wish us luck with that, from what I've been reading it is crazy there! Lots of people were camping out all night for the grand opening. Back home next Wednesday.

Been following along with you all. Lots of good thoughts and wishes going out to everybody dealing with treatments and recovery!

GAGWTA!!

So good to hear from you Cheryl! We watched all the live news coverage they had of the Cars Land opening and are so excited to see it next month!! I am glad to hear you are going back there again!! Just get to the park when it opens and head straight over to the Bugs Land area where the fast pass machines are for the Radiator Springs Racers and get your fast passes!! then get in live for the tractor ride and if you have to pick one to skip the Luigi's flying tires looks like it might not be as good as the others. I don't know if you have done Soarin over California yet, but do not miss it!! and if you eat at the new Carthay Circle Theater Restaurant, you can get premium viewing tickets for the world of color show. Can't wait to hear about it all, and hopefully see some pictures, but I bet you are not in a hurry to get home!

I am glad you made it through and I hope they have good news to make up for all that pain! There is a lodge like that beside our local cancer agency as well, does the same thing, a less expensive place for people to stay for treatment or for families. I am glad you have good weather, we are having another Juneuary this year....:lmao: I'm only laughing or I will cry....it has been so rainy and cool. I have not even planted any cucumber plants, I am sure they would not grow.

Just wanted to let you all know, hubby had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago, they found a polyp and sent it in for biopsy so we have been living in fear for the last several days. I had some chest and back xrays as well, and yesterday we both got good news from our doctor :) I think after all the bad things he has had to deal with, for our whole family over the past year and a half, he was as relieved as we were!! :goodvibes

GAGWTA, Ladies!

Happy belated birthday, Sha!

Was such a joy to meet Laurie & her family at WDW! Between the crazy schedules and the rain we didn't have as much time together as I would have liked. Hopefully we will overlap again in the future. :)

No trip report this year. I didn't even take any pics of the food! :rotfl: PM if you would like the link to the pics on FaceBook.

I have determined that 9 nights is WAY too short. Of course, in October we are only staying for 5 nights. Hoping to do the Food & Wine thing at the Swan. Has anybody been to that before?

The WiFi connection was pitiful during our trip. In the parks I was lucky if my texting would work. Apps on the phone? FORGET IT! In the room the WiFi was OK on the phones - a little slow. But by the end of the week we had NO WiFi in the room on the laptop OR the phones. The phones were running on data. :headache: So annoying. I told DH I am not bringing the laptop in October. It weighs a ton. We can get by for a few days with just the phones. He can load the memory cards from the cameras when we get home.

Sending good thoughts and healing vibes to all! :wizard: Hope everyone's summer is off to a peaceful start!

Cheryl - sounds like you are having such an amazing trip and such a great time. Have fun at Disneyland!

smiley - glad to hear the good health reports for you and your dh. Sorry you are having bad weather. I am sure summer weather cant come soon enough for you.

Elizabeth - I kept looking for your trip report and couldnt find it, now I know why. I always look forward to them.We were thinking of staying at the Swan too but I dont know if its during that event. Have you looked on their website for the package?

Sha - hope you had a wonderful b day week end

We are going to be having a heat wave here this week. Real hot in the 90 and could be up to 100 but we never get that high since we are more near the water.

Ds20 bought himself a 2 seater kayak yest. He went with ds22 on the lake by us.

Dh asked for peace and quiet. So ds24 went to the gym. It was an interesting fathers day.

I will have to schedule my sono this week. They book up so far in advance. So I usually try at least 3 weeks and then with the July holiday it cuts more time off etc.

GAGWTA. Blessings to you all.

MaryAnn, we are staying in a villa at Boardwalk, but will probably buy event-only tickets to the Food & Wine Classic. We have never stayed at the Swan before.

Smiley, YAY for some good news!

I have stayed both at the Villa on Boardwalk and Swan. Both are excellent. I love that area of the world. Such a nice stroll to Epcot or if you get lazy you can take the boat. AAhhh.. I hear the boat sounding it's horn right now!!

We are hardcore Animal Kingdom Lodge folks, but 1) we were out of points, and my friend who rented to us owns at Boardwalk and 2) it is Food & Wine. We'll give it a shot. :)

I have a feeling you are going to find a new home! Wait till you see how close you are too everything, Boats to HS and you can walk thru Epcot, take the monorail right to MK..This is my favorite area every of the world and during Food & Wine festival it is so so convenient.

Totally different resort than AK..Will be so curious to see what you think when you return

PatsMom - wondering how you are doing?

Lisa - how are you feeling too sista?

smiley - are all your trip plans in place? I bet your dgs is getting excited

Diana - how are you feeling?

Laurie - bet your dd is really busy in the yogurt shop in the summer

minniejeanie - where are you eating on your trip? I always love to hear about everyones adrs

Elizabeth - what food did you enjoy the most? How was Yachtsman if you went. Thinking of going there in Nov.

Well I am still looking at the Food and Wine stuff. The flights and rooms are so expensive, cant get anything with the miles etc. I think I will have dh call since he is an elite member of the airline and they are suppose to help him etc. I know the one time they had to call their disney person directly for us, not disney itself but I guess someone else who deals with them?

Dh is so busy with his project. He says besides his 4 state trip in Mid July he now has to go to California again in August I think? Well at least its not China. The Chinese people are coming here July 5th. I hope they dont ask to see something like the Statue of Liberty like I had to get the tickets for last time etc. Dh is thinking of a Broadway Show We shall see.

So hot here. A real heatwave. I was going to start decorating my classroom but have decided to be smart and stay home n the ac until the weather is cooler next week.

Hello brave ladies:

I have been doing well after my surgery to remove my ovaries. With a clear pathology I can relax a little until my MRI in August and plan my trip to New York. I have however had bad news and am feeling rather sad. One of our lovely past students just died on Saturday at age 29 of cancer gone crazy. It started off with a melanoma on her arm which was removed 18 months ago, which they told her was clear, to a growth on her leg which turned out to be more cancer. When they did a PET it was all over, lumps in her breast, liver, neck, kidneys, bones. Aaagh. How do these things happen? I'm just grieving right now. She had great spirit to the end, but its just so sad. I also lost another friend in May of malignant melanoma that took her in just 3 months.

Its hard to not feel overwhelmed. My mother's ovarian cancer has likely come back as her CA125 was elevated last time she checked. she goes next for another check, but feels that it has come back. Now, my cousins 15 month baby has been diagnosed with kidney disease. He has swollen up like a balloon and needs to take cortisteroids 3 times a day. We're all hoping that he will go into remission.

I salute all the bravery of everyone who battles all these trials. I am humbled by all your courage. Much love.

Hi ladies, I am having trouble keeping up here! There are a lot of members of this club no one wants to belong to. The support here is wonderful.

I am doing much better. Still have a skin rash from the Bactrim, but the infection seems to be gone. Now need to go back to the PT for the swelling under my arm. Saw my Onco yesterday, and I have gotten out of rads and chemo! (ER positive, no nodes) But I am looking at a scrip for Femara.

We are hard core Epcot resort folks, owning at BCV. My favorite place, JSG you will enjoy the new perspective! There are plenty of "wild animals" to watch along the Boardwalk!

slg, good news on the surgery, so sorry to hear about your student and family.

LMP, your DH travels more than mine. Mine takes off for a couple of weekends a month to teach scuba, and has two week long trips planned this summer. He's going wreck diving in the Keys in July. Always a relief when he gets home in one piece. Usually I take a solo WDW trip to even things out, but not this year.

GAGWTA, Ladies! :flower3:

MaryAnn, yes, we went to Yachtsman to see our dear friend Ricardo. :goodvibes Food and service were excellent, as always. I probably would have loved the sustainable fish at Sanaa, but DS didn't like what he ordered so he took mine and DH and I shared the other 2 entrees. :headache:

We went to Flying Fish twice, but our favorite server Didi is not there on weekends. Poor planning on my part- we went on Friday both times. Going again in October, but again, it will be Friday or Saturday night. The manager gave me her card and said I can e-mail to find out if he will be working.

We LOVED the Boardwalk model when we toured it a couple of years ago. Of course this is a short trip and we just got a studio, so we'll see how it goes. That one bedroom with 2 bathrooms at Kidani spoiled us.

Dancind - Glad you are doing better!

slg - Hugs to you!

Crazy week here - huge shake-ups at work for DH, lots of maintenance issues at work for me (which means LOTS of repair dudes in and out). Looking forward to the weekend!

Off to seethe oncologist and have chemo today. Have been feeling very weak the past few days, so I don't know if I will get chemo clearance. Will let you know how I am doing later next week.

Have a good weekend everyone. :goodvibes

I hope you get cleared cuz it will mean one last chemo treatment you need. I am thinking of you today! GOod LUck...Let us know how you feel:love:

sig: omg so much for you to handle.. so sorry..:love: I don't understand how someone so young can go so quickly like that. On my other group for cancer we had a wonderful young 29 teacher die within the year. ALthough I never met her, we conversed all year together. I was heartbroken and feel for her young son every day. This disease so STINKS

luvmary: It is so funny you ask about ADRs cuz I am doing NONE.. I usually have everything planned to the T. This year we are staying at US one night so we are probably going to eat on Citywalk. More than likely Margaritville. Then we go to SOG for remainder of the trip. We rented a van so I have been looking at restaurants outside the WORLD. I find the food in the park so very very overpriced and I hate to complain but when your laying out over $150 for a dinner the last thing I want next to me are crying babies or kids running around. Okay that is my speel... However I do want to eat at california Grill or Yachtsmen one night. I am hoping that will be the last night. As far as during lunch time, I like Pecos Bills in MK and Liberty Tree Tavern. I am gonna just wing it and see how it goes. I know...crazy but going to try it... I will report when I come back and let you know how it went. Who knows maybe I will find a great new place that I never tried:rolleyes1:rolleyes1
