LMP.... sending you some happy thoughts. Am glad your DS hasnt insulted you.

did you know that 6 out of 7 dwarfs (dwarves) are not happy?

I'm flying into LAX. I've been wanting to try Virgin America (I'm really curious about the "mood lighting" on the airplane...:confused3 ) and they fly SEA to LAX. I'm staying at the Paradise Pier hotel at DL. I'm going to take the Grayline Magical Express I think. There's a $5 coupon for it, so it's not a bad deal. Costco has some really good deals if you're a member there (I think I had to give my card # to buy it... I can't remember...)

When are you going? Too bad we're not going to be there at the same time!

Is that like Magical Express for WDW? Never get to use that...

Im going out 12/3- 12/7. I had had a good opportunity for PP but found that with the online ticket price, the room and airfare costs equalled the room. I wanted to stay at a DL resort but its okay. It just across the street.

I wish you were! I am meeting a few different friends out there, but basically travelling alone. I was suppose to have a friend go with me (the one who diedd) and others. I am excited about it though.

HI All

Happy for all those going to Disney and Disneyland! Wish I was in your suitcases. Have a great time!

Sha- I am sooooo happy to hear your Mom is in the clear! You should tell us your happy news so we can celebrate with you!!:dance3: Enjoy the planning of your trip to Disneyland.

Snappy-Have fun on your trip!
LF- Glad you didn't get the flu! We are all coming for your Italian dinner!!
Oxcar- Your sisters story made me cry. I am praying for you and your family. I think it is beautiful that you do things with her children. Even if you think you are not doing anything, you are doing something so awesome for your sister. I hope you have a great time in Disney!

LMP- Thanks for your well wishes. I am happy your hubby is home. Sorry that the homecoming wasn't great but just think you will be with him in Disney!!!!!:yay: Have a great time on your trip!

Fl Lisa- I am happy to hear that you are feeling better. Hugs for cutting your hair.

Honu- Have a great trip! Sounds like you have things well in hand.

I will try and put a picture of Koha soon. We still love him soooo much. He is soooo spoiled. He is getting better with his fear. He crouches when you raise your hand or if you change you voice he is on the floor. It is so sad when you think what he could have gone through.

So busy at work and still looking for a job! It's just so tiring. :flower3: GAGTWA!!!

Good afternoon everyone

Sha - Here is my Boma story. We were staying at AKL and dh had to have a business meeting with a guy who is DVC and he brought his 3 kids to the restraunt too. I think they sat the kids at an adjoining table. Well right as soon as I started the meal I had to excuse myself to the room and was sick for the rest of the night. I have a strange stomach. That happened at me at San Angel last year too. Lucky the guys wife wasnt there as she hates disney but since then we havent been back.

Candy - Glad Kohan is adjusting to his new home. I am praying for your job situation.

Laura and Fl Lisa - Hope you are both healing

Lisa - I hope your drs. consult goes well too

Well dh said he is going to pa next mon since I have drs. appt. tues and wed. and he is taking me, nothing like watching me get scopes, needles in the neck etc. Well at dh work they are asking for blood receipent stories to write in the work newspaper to encourage people to donate blood at the next blood drive in dec. They said it could be employees or family members so I just e mailed the girl. I told her if she doesnt publish my story, its o.k. I was just glad she got to read it and I thanked her for doing the blood drive etc. Hmm, I hope she just acknowledges that she got my e mail etc. I would be floored if they actually published it. I said we thank God for the 10 people who gave blood etc. Hmm, that place is just too politically correct. I made it short and simple.Last night dh and I went to the diner. We saw one of his co workrs whose wife died of cancer. I dont know when he came in or was there. He doesnt have any ikids and I wouldnt have minded if he joined us. Tonight dh and I have meetings at church so it will be good to be by some adults for a while.

Planning on doing alot of shopping tomm.

GTAGWTA, Have a great day everyone.

Lisa - I love that you are going to DL! That is our plan after I get through all of this. After literally hundreds of trips to WDW during the past 37 years, I want to see Walt's park!

LMP - I'm glad that your DH is back for your trips to the doctor. I know how much you missed him!

I am feeling much better this week. I went to the plastic surgeon yesterday. I only have one more expander injection to go. He's still not sure when I will have the implant surgery as it depends on what the radiologist has planned for me after the chemo. I also visited with an old friend after my appointment for a few hours and it didn't wear me out. I hope to get some stuff done around the house this week, but I know not to overdo it.

Have a great day ladies!:sunny:

I was worried about the seasoning for me when I went to Boma. There is always a risk of it irritating my stomach. I was pleasantly surprised that it was very mild the night I went.

Thanks Candy, am going to post mom's good news too. I just... well, feel a little sensitive that for you all.
Mom saw her neurosurgeon yesterday. He said "no more surgeries for you" and I added, "at least not until the next generator fails". She has deep brain stimulators for those who do not know. She has essential tremors and this is the same treatment they use for some Parkinson's patients.

I am enjoying my planning for DL... each day I get a bit more excited.

Love and prayers and hugs to you all! Ive got another headache and am going to lay down for a bit.

Good afternoon ladies

Hope you all had a great day yest. Its raining here and will be until sun. they say. I hope the weather guy is wrong.

Well I had an eventful day yest. Started when ds told us he left his scholarship application in his locker. We wasted like 1 1/2 hrs. going to the school to get it, trying to fedex it, getting misinformation, going to ups etc. Both dont mail to a po box, so dh has to do it at his work post office today. Dh took me to 3 stores. I was exhauasted and did as much as I could. It wasnt shopping for me, I was getting stuff for the Operation christmas child shoeboxes. We are doing 4 boys. DS19 was going crazy last night. He is much calmer today. DS18 is gong to the city tomm. They are filming a Jeopardy type show and he is in the honor society so he gets to cheer. It will be his lst time in the city so he is excited as he hasnt gone since he was a little guy. I just got a bill from the hosp. Find out the ins. is not paying for the dietician visit which they made me have before that special diet,. Well I did call her alot of times and she did take time with us so I guess I shouldnt complain, but it would be nice if they told you its not covered ahead of time etc. Do I get an option etc. Well I have to do this again in the spring before the rad. nuclear scan and if they say talk to her etc. I am saying, no my ins. wont pay, I know what to eat now etc. My meeting Tues. night went well too. I just finished the minutes and need to proofread it before I submit it. Oh and dh work laptop died. Now it has to be sent to um, a certain agency, since he was out of the country, oh gheesh, last time I think he was interviewed by a certain dept, I wont discuss and lets say his computer ended up in DC, I cant comment more. He is getting a replacement one.

GTAGWTA. Thinking of you all.

Mom saw her surgeon yesterday and doesnt go back for 4 weeks. He said she has a little fluid but that isnt bad and to be expected. She is okay to have lymphedema massage, but will wait for a return to see Sally after she sees her oncologist and okay for her to drive again in 4 weeks. She is getting some lymphedema from her OT now, but not as good as when Sally does it.

I had my bubble burst just a little for my DL trip. I LOVE and MISS the Mainstreet Electric Light Parade... thought I would get to see it but it isnt going to be parading down the street. =0(

Sha, I totally hear you on the Electrical Parade. I was soooooo disappointed to find out it's not on next week at all. :sad1::sad1: That's my favorite parade of them all.

Sunday I'll be there! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

I'm excited to be there, but I'm still having a lot of anxiety in terms of figuring out what they're going to order up for me. Somewhere along the line, it hit me that no matter what I do, I'll never be "normal" again... The next step I take is going to have life long, life altering consequences...

I tried to go to sleep but am tossing and turning. I have noticed something more and more lately... with movies with fighting or violence in them... especially ones I have seen before, I can't watch those parts too much. Narnia is on. There is a lot of the fighting I have just had to turn my head too or else I may tear up. I do this with Pearl Harbor, Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot... and many others. Its not just hormones... its a deep sadness that fills in me.

Sha, I know how you feel. I've had that deep sadness too. I cried pretty much all the way through Up today. I cried through Walt Disney- The Man Behind the Myth. I cry at everything. With me, it's probably hormonal. I know my anxiety is through the roof right now. I hate feeling this way.

Good afternoon

Sha and Lisa . Sha thats very encouraging news about your mom Lisa I am sure your shoulders are heavy with thinking about the dr. visit but you both have great trips to look forward too, and Lisa I saw those pink mickey head pjs that you were talking about. They had 1 left and so not my size.

Fl Lisa - Hope your treatment goes well and that you dont have too many side effects and that you can enjoy the week end.

Laura - If you are tagging along, heres a :) for you sista. Hang in there

Candy - Hope you are feeling well. Sending prayers and some :wizard: for the job hunt

Well dh had some great news. His terrible boss now, and the reason he is mostly leaving, gave himn a great job review. He did say that "you are making a big mistake leaving this dept". and now the boss is making the life miserable of the poor lady whose dh just died. Dh calls his boss a monster. He actually cant say anything wrong about dh, well just that he is a little disorganized, hmm, he does the work of like 5 guys, that is a reason the old boss wants him back. So he will be getting a good raise, so that will stay for the next year until the new boss will probably give him just an average raise. Also dh gave me one of my presents from the trip..a bag from Harrods in London.:yay: It said food halls on it. The box was gold and had a big gold ribbon. I didnt want to open it! It was full of belgian chocolates!! Dh is the bestest:). He said he asked the salesperson fior the best chocolate they had!! I said oh some tea would have been nice too.He said they actually offered that to him too. I will be cookng alot tomm. for church on sun.

GTAGWTA. Have a great week end.

Sha & Lisa - I share your feelings about what to watch lately. I am trying to stick with comedies and family movies because I get too emotional watching anything else.

LMP - Good news about your DH's job! It sounds like he will be much happier with his new position.

Herceptin infusion was uneventful today. I haven't started feeling tired yet, which is a good thing because I have to drive DS and one of his friends to the movies in an hour. I'm hoping for a relaxed weekend because next week is going to be crazy busy for me.

Enjoy the weekend everybody!:goodvibes

Hi Everyone,

It's been quite a while since I've posted. Was thinking about all of you wonderful ladies today and thought it was about time I said hi and to let you know that I am SO grateful for all of the support you gave me when I started my journey 2 years ago (time flies!). I am happy to say that I am cancer-free! The tamoxifen has pushed me into menopause, which kinda stinks, but I am enjoying not having my monthly visitor anymore! I'm almost 43 and knew I would not be having any more kids, so I have accepted this. My saline implants have been holding up well (pun intended) and I am happy to be free of surgeries.

I hope that all of our survivors are doing well, and that those of you who are currently in the heat of the battle are staying strong!

Dawn

Hi, I hope you all don't mind me asking a question on here. My mom was diagnosed in the summer with stage 4 lung cancer. She just had her 5th chemo treatment of cisplatin/avastin/alimta/zometa last Monday. She takes compazine for the nausea but it's just not really helping. Is there anything any of you have tried that works? I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks

Hi There. My experience was that there was nothing that would take it away "completely", unfortunately. There are some things that can "take the edge off". Has she tried zofran? Benadryl? Ativan? With trial and error, she might be able to find a combination of things (along with compazine, food, drinks) that work, but it's not foolproof. I hope she can find a solution. It's hard.

Dawn, thanks for checking in. :flower3:

GAGWTA :)

Good afternoon ladies

DeeCee - Glad to hear your great news. I grew up in Central NJ too, Middlesex County

Mom2 boys - I only had radiation and they gave me compazine. I dont think it worked so great either. For all my surgeries in the hosp. I had zofran and I felt alot better. Hope your mom finds the right med to help with the nausea.

Laurie - are you back from your vacation yet. I hope you had a great time. Cant wait to hear all about it.

Guess what tomm is ladies...yup, the dreaded nerve test on the vocal chords etc. I am so not looking forward to this. I am hoping it will not be painful. I think that is what I am worried about most and of course the resullts which will indicate wether they want to do that other surgery. This will be performed by this surgeon since his specialty is voice stuff and he did save my life so I have alot of confidence in him.

Also they accepted my blood recipient story at dh work. I think dh edited it a little and they are publishing it on the web and the work newspaper and they want me to come in for a picture. I think I will say only with dh with me and the lady wrote back that she is a thyroid cancer survivor too. Yeah!!
I had a bad day yest. I started when I felt a little pop in my stomach, so not good. I had alot of pain during the day at church. Sat. I was doiing all the running around with dh etc. and my back is killing me as usual.

GTAGWTA. Thinking of you all.

LMP will be thinking about you tomorrow.

Mom saw the oncologist today... no chemo, no radiation but this time she is taking Arimidex, where she didn't take anything the last time. She will see him again in 4 months and sees the surgeon again in a few weeks. I would love to get her down to WDW this weekend, even for a day, but I need to clean out our front room so I can get a tree up in that room.

I know my hands are my best defense on finding breast cancer, but this new recommendation for Mammograms at age 50 or older isnt good!
