I wanted to add that when I checked in at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek the night before the Race for the Cure on Oct 14th, the "parking pass area" was decorated with a whole bunch of pink balloons and they were offering champagne to guests checking in

I guess I was not the only guest arriving that day for the race. Interesting that management knew the race was the next day.

No wonder I like that joint.

Well I am trying to stay awake! I have been coming into work at 5:30AM and staying to 4:30 to 5:00 pM It is Engineering week so we have week of activity. Exhausting. I can't wait to go to be tonite. It's hard to sleep because I think I am going to oversleep and miss vendors. Hope everyone's week is going well.

I am a bit frustrated with myself that I did not have the presence of mind to take a pictures of the balloons and champagne. After a wonderful day with Sha and her mom at the food and wine festival, I was on a mission to check in and see my room. After I realized I got what is one of the ultimate 1 bedoom presidential units, I was so into taking pictures and catching the sunset that first night (blue moon beer was involved), I forgot to go back down and indulge in the champagne and take a picture or I would have. I did encounter a WYndham guy in a suit in the elevator and he told me I was in one of the prized 1 bedrooms. I wish I had been Together enough to comment to him about the balloons and champagne. Ah well, easy to look back, huh?

Thank you so much everyone for welcoming me here, for the prayers and support. I'm sorry it took awhile to get back with my results it's been a very busy last few days.
So far all is good. I have 2 tiny cyst and I go back in 6 months for a follow up mammogram and ultrasound. While there they took more pics, doc looked at them and said she wanted a couple of more so had more done, than an ultrasound. I did end up being there almost 2 hours.
I will keep each and everyone of you in my prayers and will be reading here almost everyday. Again I can't thank you enough.

Laurie - wow, seems like everyone was treated so nicely at the hotel. Sounds like an amazing place. How is your mom feeling?

Candy - so sorry you have to do these long hours this week. Yes, you should put on the crockpot too. Last night I did beef stroganoff and I see another recipe from Paula Deen I want to try, something about orange chicken and I did one from the Dis budget board, cranberry chicken. The ds liked the flavor.

PatsMom - Have fun at MNSSHP tonight.

I have been lucky winning some contests lately. Last week I won and book and today I found out I won a book, travel mug and a $25 amazon gift card. Yeah!

Tonight we have to go to Wendys for the boys old school fundraiser and then tomm. dh leaves for Michigan and I am going with ds21 for the oral surgeon evaluation. Hopefully we can get his teeth out next thursday Its really the only time to do it before finals, my infusion and subsequent testing and with dh trip to china etc. If not I guess it will have to be over winter break etc.

Laurie - how is your mom doing and wishing your dh all the best with his upcoming surgery.

Well back from the oral surgeon with ds. All I can say is . Its suppose to be done next thurs. at 8:45, takes an hour. They are worried about his asthma though and discussed the anesthesia. They said he must bring an inhaler etc. just in case.. They said he should be swelling by day 3 and 4. Dh said he would take him. Fine with me. I will write down a list of questions if I do not go. Our dental insurance just stinks. They said we used some of the benefits already, um yes, I go to the regular drentist with the other 2 ds and just had my chipped tooth fixed etc. Well they said its going to cost over $3,100 and the ins. is only gonna pay about $700, so its $$$ for us. Thank God they take credit cards. More miles for disney in May. We then went out to Panera for lunch. Nice of ds as I didnt ask but of course I paid

I am also hoping that with this trip for business today and our nov.dec. trip that dh will have enough points for a free trip on southwest in May, that would help a lot too.

Mom is better. Scheduled for a colonoscopy Tuesday so we will know more then.

Coordination with my sister and her husband in being there for mom has been seamless. Helps that they are retired, and I am working fewer hours.

My son's car is acting up so I have been doing more shuttling.

Trying to be upbeat.

DH does not seem worried about the MOH's procedure. Hopefully they will be able to get clean margins with the first go round.

Life goes on.

I think our older two's impacted wisdom teeth's extraction was covered under major medical and was paid for after the deductible was met. That was a few years ago, maybe coverage is different now?

My BRAC 1 and 2 insurance info came in from when I had the testing in September-the insurance company paid the $3,000- plus tab at 100% since we had met the deductible. Glad I went through with it as the info benefits my sister and my daughters. I was worried they would need to start routine mammograms earlier than the norm but I am told with my results they can start at age 40.

Time for me to let go, already.

Snappy, hope that they can figure out what is going on and that it isn't too serious. I am on the end of my vacation now. I did a bit of nothing this week. We did go to Jacksonville on Tuesday and stayed overnight at my sisters new place. I have found shopping Nirvana there! Between the Town Center mall and 2 (YES TWO) outlets!

I am trying to figure out what to do with my hair. I love it straight for my neck. I have been hearing how bad the blow outs are on ones hair. The option is to relax my curls some and then it could be easier to straighten for me. Ray prefers the straight. But he isnt why I am considering it. HUGE difference on my neck. I cant explain.

OH! I have to get the link but Melanie did another blog. They are on holiday and in Spain right now before she starts back at chemo.

I ordered my thank you note cards to send out. Didnt need a sweater last weekend, as I didn't get one before hand. Sweatshirt wouldnt have looked right s was in a dress or dressy kind of clothes.

Watching some football and LOL as mom is rooting for UVa and I am rooting for Miami. Miami isnt doing too well... again. Then flash over to the baseball game. Am rooting for Rangers.

Snappy- It's good you have support for your Mom!! That helps bunches. Yes I think I am on the end of my steam. I actually am leaving work today at noon. Counting down the minutes!

Sha-You may want to check out a few straigteners for your hair you can do yourself. There are a few flat irons that can do it faster and look just as sleek. My daughters hair waves up like yours and we use the one they advertise on tv. I can't think of the name of it. It brushes and rolls at the same time. I can flat iron her hair in an hour.

LMP-Don't you just love insurance. You pay for it but thene they don't pay anything!!!

Laurie - hope your ds car gets fixed too. Car trouble is frustrating.

Well I am sick of problems and being on the phone. I was trying to get dh his boarding passes for today last night and ran into so much trouble. Got 1 lady. did what she told me to do and it didnt work, later I got another girl and she had to speak to a supervisor and finally it was straightened out around midnight.

Then I am reading the e mails and see disney sent one and says unless we get your deposit by sat. we are cancelling your reservation. Um, we already did a 1 night deposit when we booked the bounceback in May. So I called them this morning. They have to talk to a supervisor. They dont know why I got that e mail. They are sending me another e mail confirming our original deposit *havent gotten that yet)

And finally 1 month from today I wil be in Disney, so all tests, procedures etc. will be on hold for one week if I need anything.

met up with Olallamom and her son for a little bit today. Was in Orlando to get some wine that R and I had had at Jiko and then was headed to do some errands at the open mall at the back end of WDW (on 429). Didn't get to meet up with Patsmom again, but as she said, maybe in January. Head is hurting and am heading to bed. I look at the tv and just hope that Texas can pull off a win. Yes there was a little photo. Mine is a little blurry I think. I will check it, but Olallamom's may be better. Was a pleasure to meet her and her son.

Back: I am not sure about those brush flatteners. I have a lot of hair when its curly. Doesnt seem so much when its straight. Anyways, I will talk to Barbara who does my hair. Maybe have her show me and have me do part of it. Just reaching up, my arm strength isnt great. Hasn't been for a long time. Partly because of the accidents.

Its raining here today or at least now. Was raining some when we met up with Olallamom too. My picture is blurry, so going to wait to see hers.

I just realized what you meant by getting those therapies complimentary LMP. Because she is in England and they are covered. Yes. I was thinking, what did I not read??? Just give me some tea and tell me it will all be ok LOL

Yes, it is great that Laurie has that support. I wish my sister who I have helped and mom has helped would get off her bum and help mom. She made on payment back and has not paid anymore. 3rd payment was due yesterday. And they are $25 payments. How easy is that??????

Am going to try to get stuff done today that I have been putting off. Cant see my college football games as they are on channels I dont get. I could go to the sports bars, but I need to do this work.

Sha, I broke out the winter Chai tea I bought last year from Tea Forte and am having some this morning in honor of you. It is cold here today and will be in the mornings for awhile.

Goodness I love tea! What would I do without it?

Hope you are having fun at WDW, Cheryl, Patsmom and Ollalla. Dying to know how the Halloween party is there this year.

I am off to the ALS walk with some of my compadres from work, then head to New Orleans before 11 am to meet up with our DD21. She is taking DD almost 16 (Nov 1) to the Halloween Voodoo Fest tonight. I am not going, I am not in the obllgatory age group (under 30) so I am just bringing DD15 down and picking her up tomorrow.

Gosh I wish I could sleep in.

I finally figured out how to use Pandora on my iphone and am setting up my stations like crazy, actually playing some of the music I listened to when I was in WDW for the race on the Bose set up in my unit at Wyndham.

At least i will have more music to listen to while i walk this morning. I wish I did not have to wear my funky shirt from work.

Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do.

We received an email from Miss Lee today. She has a reoccurance of abdominal cancer. She is beginning some chemo again once a week to see how it responds. Will keep you posted. Prayers please.

For those who don't know. This is one of my moms gf from college who got mom the slogan of "I dont need it to see with, hear with or eat with" regarding breast cancer. Lee is also a BC survivor.

I tried to answer this before but lost it. I already miss Terry and Theo. (No reflection on the new guy, really. Just loved them...)

PNM- How are you doing?

Good, Candy. We celebrated the twins' birthday, they are 14 now. (My prayers were answered when I asked God to give me more time with them, they were 5yo at the time of my BC diagnosis.) DS had a concussion after he was hit in the head with a baseball during fall playoffs. Scary. Second CT scan since the summer. DD fell rollerblading and hurt her wrist, again with the XRays and such just one week after DS. People just kind of do a double take when we go in, lol. They loved my "splint" that I'd made for her overnight which was a spatula (layed her hand on the flipper part) covered with a baseball sock and wrapped with stickless tape we had left over from the dog.

Other than that have been plugging along. Enjoyed reading everyone's trip reports. Following along what's happening with everyone. Wondering how Cheryl, Smily and Lisa are doing? A few people I know have been diagnosed with cancers recently. GAGWTA

Sorry I have been MIA lately. A lot has been going on.

I did not receive good news from my latest PETscan, which was not really that surprising since my CA-125 numbers have not been good. I didn't want to post on here because DD Meg sometimes trolls here and I didn't want to tell her anything until she came home this weekend. Anyway, lymph nodes in the back of my stomach lit up and they're larger than they were on my last scan in May. I already had an appointment scheduled with my Miami doc this Tuesday, so I will find out what he has planned then. My oncologist and I are thinking he is going to want to do debulking surgery. I will let you know what I find out then. My oncologist also suddenly changed my chemo on Friday. I am no longer taking the Gemzar/Taxol combo. I am now taking Topotecan, which I have to have every Friday for three consecutive weeks, with the fourth week off. I don't have any idea how I'm going to tolerate this, since I've been so weak lately from the bi-weekly chemo.

Meg came home for the wedding of my best friend's son. I am happy that I was able to make it through the wedding and some of the reception yesterday. First time I have been in a dress and heels in years, so I made sure there were plenty of pictures, lol.

I am sorry that I didn't reply to other posts, but I just don't have the energy right now. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers, though. Thanks to all of you who participated in walks for us.

Glad you were able to make it to your friend's son's wedding.

Linda, I can't believe the twins are 14, but then I am in denial that our little red headed baby will be 16 Tuesday.

She had a wonderful time the first night of her at her all weekend concert in New Orleans. I have not heard a report from her yet today about yesterday and last night at the concert (DD21 said they were going to be late and wanted to sleep in today). I am going to pick them up at 2 pm and get them a meal, then return home with DD15. I am sure I will get the story in technicolor then. I know Blink 181 was going to take the stage late last night.

DD21 sent me some pictures on her iphone last night of both DD15 alone and the two of them together. Truly a sister event for them which they don't have too often since DD21 is so busy with her life.

Nice to see then interacting closely.

Lisa...... so sorry to hear about the scan results, and that you are facing even more treatment. I don't know what it means to have the type of surgery you mentioned, but will be sending you lots of thoughts and good wishes that it will be just what you need. Glad you were able to enjoy the wedding, and in heels no less!

Linda, sounds like you've been keeping quite busy playing nurse at home as well as at work. Love the splint!

Snappy, just had to comment on those pictures of your hotel room - or should I say presidential palace??? Wow! What an amazing upgrade! Glad your mom is feeling better, hopefully the colonoscopy wont be too hard on her.

Sha and Patsmom, sorry I missed meeting up with you both.....we were still at the MK at the time. Wish it wasn't such a quick trip for us, out schedules would have worked out better.

LMP, with all the crazy run around on the phone and with doc appts and your DH work issues, I know you'll be really happy to be in disney next month! Seems like you sure have had your fill of drama lately.....just keep counting down those days!

SC, glad to hear of your great news!!!

We had a great trip, just way too short....only three full days, plus travel days when we arrived much too late and left way too early. We ate and ate and ate....several sit downs and really enjoyed the F&W! Just a laid back trip and very nice way to celebrate our 30th. Stayed at the Yacht Club for the first time ever, and really liked it, especially liked being able to walk back and forth to Epcot. Room had a nice view, will post some pictures and more details later, I'm a bit short on time right now.

Went to see my oncologist this week, and got great news.....cancer in my abdomen was not showing up at all on the CT scan. Doc said he was really not expecting that, but he did trust the scan, and my marker numers were down last time, so he believes it. Makes me kinda uneasy, but thrilled all the same. I get another two months off, and then another scan. I'm just looking at it like an early Christmas present. Who knows what the new year will bring, but I'm going to enjoy this next two months for sure.

Cheryl - glad you had a great trip and that you enjoyed the Yacht Club. We had a lousy room at the YC in May, the BC on was so much better so that is why we are staying at the BC again in Nov. I do like the quietness of the YC more, but BC is a little closer walk to Epcot and the Marketplace too if we want to get s snack etc. I usually get a yogurt and muffin.

Our weather was terrible yes, so much rain and wind. I will see if ds21 can take me for my blood work on tues. I have to fast and he is not a morning person. So when he gets up, we will go.

Cheryl its okay... try next time. Am working some on my NYE trip. I need to call about adding a stay. Have a tree house! Can hardly wait. I have tea booked for the 6 of us (mom, my sister, her daughter, her BF, myself and R. though I havent confirmed R yet. LOL).

For Miss Lee, I don't remember if this was breast cancer that appeared in her abd before. But it is a reoccurence of the same from my understanding.
