We are getting pretty close to 250 pages. Pretty soon I'll have to begin the next thread but I'll link this one to the new one, fyi.

I'll let you know when I'm going to do it, probably around the mid 240s.

Today I saw my plastic surgeon for a 2 week post op visit. The best news was that I don't have to wear a sports bra 24/7. I literally have been wearing a bra for 2 weeks straight. UGH!
I will not have to see this doctor for a month. Next up is doctor appointments with my general surgeon and oncologist.
The process of having a double mastectomy with one step reconstruction has been painful, but is getting a little easier each day.
I measure my recovery by how much pain meds I need each day.

Yesterday I realized that I was ready to learn my fate as far as further treatment goes, so I am looking forward to meeting with my oncologist.

What an emotional journey this is!

I have read it can be very crowded on the weekends. I do not remember it being overly crowded when we went in 2008. Maybe we were lucky. We were there for 6 nights. On Sunday we did the RFTC and ate brunch on the BW with Sha, her mom, Ann and her sisters.

My sister and her DH thought it was very crowded last year in early November. she was in a scooter and was very frustrated with the busses. They avoided F&W after the first day.

I have ADRs away from Epcot next weekend to avoid the crowds and will go to F&W Thursday, Friday early perhap and Monday.

what?! No F&W with mom and I on Saturday??? I haven't gotten to enjoy any of the adult beverages yet. Had to drive home Sunday. Will enjoy it both next Saturday and the following one with R.

You convinced me, I gotta go Saturday too. When are getting into town? Saturday?

You convinced me, I gotta go Saturday too. When are getting into town? Saturday?

after work on Friday. Hopefully things wont be as crazy as they were last time. Am still unsure where I am staying at. A friend is trying to use points for her DVC that may run out, and if not then am staying in a cash room I guess.

Please keep Mel in thoughts and prayers... she is headed to surgery shortly. Thanks! <3

I will be praying for Mel. Please update us.

Sha, I have a studio the first two nights OKW. You welcome to stay with me. Saturday through tuesday I am at the very large 1 bedroom at the Wyndham but I am not sure if the sofa is a sofa bed. I will call the resort and find out.

Forgot that OKW does not have elevators. I am in the HH area. Let me know if you and mom want to stay with me. I will have to ask for either first floor or the building with elevators.

Good afternoon ladies

Sha - saying prayers for Melanie today

Anne - keeping Avery in m prayer too

Lisa - how was your lunch

Laurie - how is the computer shopping going? We like hp and dell, but now dh is getting a mac for work. It should be interesting. I would like to see how it works too.

PatsMom- Hope you are resting and recovering

Linda - thanks for the AAA info. I think we need to get this. I heard you can share it with the other family members? Heard this on a Judge Judy show. It would be worth it for us I guess with 4 vehicles.

Candy - how is your dd brace pain? When does your dh have to start the night shift? Hopefully the night shift will be more quieter than the shift he is on now or is it more busy??

Well things are progressing nicely PTL. Got the newer van and signed tons of paperwork, head spinning. Dh returned the rent a car and had to argue about reducing the rate for the early return. Havent heard the story yet. Now to deal with the crashed van paperwork. On the to do list.

Dh has informed me he will most likely be going to China Mid November. Oh joy.

So what is everyones week end plans? Dh does not get monday off, only ds23 as the bank is closed and the 2 ds have college too. So I think sun. afternoon we might go to the farm and let the ds get the pumpkins and we will get lots of yummy food etc. Its suppose to be 80 degrees!!

Sounds like you are all going to have a great meet up. cant wait to hear all about it.

Maryann, DH I'd looking at a Dell laptop. We are both CPAs and the accounting software is windows based, hence pc's. We had a fairly good history with Dells. He is looking at the fastest processor available and an 8 gig hard drive. I think we could get by with less but he wants something we can stream video to the flat screen tv in our bedroom. Also something we wont outgrow fir a few years. He almost ordered it last night but he might today. I am now using a Dell laptop at work (as of last night actually) but is hooked up to a nice big sanding monitor, a keyboard and a mouse.

It gives me something I can unusual from everything and bring home or take away from the office the next time we have a disaster around here.

Glad you got the van. Do you like it?

:yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: Congratulations!!!! LMP on the Car! :dance3: I hope you like it. How does it ride?

Sha Snappy and Olalla Have a good time and take lots of Pics!

Lisa Sooooo glad you feel well enought to go out. Have a good lunch with your friend. How is Meg doing?

I am having a jewelry party on Sunday, work on Saturday and work tomorrow!!! I have to make cheesecake for the party and don't know when I will be able to do that. It is supposed to be beautiful the next few days. Maybe i will have my son work for me on Saturday  Sounds like a plan!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Smiley where you at girlfriend?!?

Merry How goes the sale?

Cheryl and Jacks Missing you ladies.

Ok ladies now I need your input.

I am scheduled to meet with my oncologist for the first time on Wednesday.

What questions would you all suggest be on my list?

Thanks,

Nancy

Olallamom - Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

1) What drugs are you having and what are the possible side effects?
2) How many rounds does she anticipate you having and at what intervals?
3) Will you need to have a Neulasta or Neupogen shot after your chemo to boost your white blood cell count?
4) How many hours will each treatment be and do you need to bring lunch or do they provide it?

That should be enough to get you started. I'm sure others will come up with some other questions for you. You don't want to ask questions about what will be happening a month from now during your first visit. I call it taking baby steps. Focus on what's directly in front of you and worry about the other stuff later.

Good luck!:goodvibes

Our weekend plans include a road trip to Texas for the O.U. game and visit DS & wife. DD is staying here to take care of the elderly dogs and prepare to get new bedroom furniture in her room. We hope to rent a moving van on Monday to switch out some furniture in prep for the sale.

Hi everyone. I got the dreaded call to come back after my mammogram this week. Said there was a change with my right breast since my last mammogram 1- 1/2 yrs ago, and that it happens sometimes as we age, I'm 56. Said I need more pictures and possibly an ultrasound and that it could take up to 2 hrs, that I will know the results before I leave. I had to go back last time for an ultrasound and everything turned out good. It was my first digital mammogram I read and was told that that happens quite often. I'm trying not to worry myself about this but of course it is staying in the back of my mind. Please send lots of prayers and good luck.

SC definitely will send lots of prayers and luck. I still keep your mantra with me "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it." That was one of 2 that got me through nursing school.

I wish it was next weekend already, but it's okay. I am oncall this weekend. I have some paperwork sitting here to catch up on but things are better. I don't know why... but just been a sad feeling week for me. I don't know if it had to do with Mel's surgery or not. Sunday night is when it started and I had read the blog I posted last.

Mel's husband posted yesterday afternoon for her that she was out of surgery and she thought she would post later that evening. I was hoping she wouldn't and get needed to rest. She didn't post until this morning. "Battered and bruised but still smiling after reading all them wonderful get well wishes. Thanks a million guys xxxxx" She, like all of you, is amazing. **Mel sent me a message saying she was headed home.

Laurie at the moment we are booked at Coronado Springs. Still waiting to see if a room opens up under DVC. If not I can check this one off my list. I received a yard sign for the walk. Don't remember requesting it, but now looking forward to decorating it. Hope I have time. Going to swing by Michaels to see what I can find. I have things in mind already though. Maybe JoAnns too. I need ribbon to write some names on also. Got a week! Guess I won't have a true 10 member team, but will try better next year. Am debating at moment if I will do the Orlando one again. Will see how it goes. I miss that it's not on WDW property though.

S.C. - Hang in there

Sha - Hoping all goes well for you during RFTC. I will be thinking of you!

MerryPopppins - Enjoy the game!

Feeling much better today. It's pouring down rain here right now and supposed to continue all weekend. No swimming for me. :sad2: Hopefully, it will let up for a little while. I have to go see "the vampires" at my oncologist's office for labs later today. I really don't like driving in the rain here - everyone drives as though there's a foot of snow on the ground!

Have a nice weekend everyone.:flower3:
