First, congrats for losing the drains. How freeing is that????

Main thing is. . . don't wear white ever, or anything tight. I think with a jacket on you will be fine. I also used woven cotton camisoles some, can't tolerate silk or nylon thought.

Just remember that you are noticing things more than anyone else was. It is natural to feel self-conscious. That feeling was a big part of what pushed me to doing delayed reconstruction.

I can't stress enough that you will notice the unevenness more than anyone else.
Good luck. If I can help in any way, ask away or PM me. I'll do my best to help.

More things I would never have thought of. Thanks SO MUCH!!!

This thread is a lifesaver!!!

Thanks so much for your help!! I never knew they made front opening sports bras-- that may very well be the way to go until I'm a bit more even.

I did some online shopping yesterday at chadwicks.com and got a bunch of button down shirts, each under $10. I think that's probably the best option for me. As long as I wear them outside my skirt or pants, they'll hold the shape enough to fake it under a blazer. I tried wearing a lightweight sweater on Sunday... I had no problem getting it on or off, but my lopsidedness was pretty apparent.

I know it sounds silly for someone planning on a breast implant, but I don't think I want anything like your "fluff." I'm OK with covering what's there (or not there, in my case.) But I think I would feel like one of the kids I teach, putting sweatsocks into a bra to fill it out. This is entirely my own psychosis, and I know it's irrational. But I think I'll be more comfortable hiding, but not changing, my shape. Silly, huh?

Thanks again for your help. You've given me a real solid direction, as well as helped clarify my own thoughts on the matter. I appreciate it.

I understand your feelings. I am at the end (THANK GOD) of my reconstruction (almost a year) and felt the same way you do. However, I wound up putting nylon stockings in my other "half" because it was soft enough and I could manipulate it to look "even". Once I get home I take everything off and put on a tee shirt. I can't wait to be done with it all! For me, it was impossible to hide under clothing due to my larger half (d cup). I am really looking forward to being a smallish C and not having to always wear a bra! FREEDOM!

Well, I have decided to forge ahead with my local surgery plans AND change my plans for WDW. I am having surgery 10/22 locally with immediate (I HOPE) implant and my expander exchange. SInce I will be missing 3.5 weeks from work I am headed to disney at the end of my leave so I don't have to take more leave two weeks after returning to work. I hope I am up to it. AND I am changing my ressie to the POP century to save $$. I am really worried about the economy and it will save me more than 1000.00 (for three days!!!:scared1: ). Its the right thing to do for my family and it will allow me to plan another weekend in a few months. I feel good about it. Nervous about the surgery though. I am so sick of pain. The positive is that we will be buying florida resident passes AND we will be there for the second Very Merry Christmas party on 11/11 so that will be a nice time to get in the disney Christmas mood since we will be missing alot of the other holiday things.

So what dates are you going to be there in November?

Your plan sounds very decisive! Will keep you in prayers especially on 10/22

We will be there 11/8 through 11/12. It will only be 17 days after my surgery, so I am taking insurance! I think I will be okay, we are going to take it easy.

I just realized that with my hectic weekend (and now the beginning of this week too), I failed to mention that I just celebrated another cancerversary. :cheer2: Hard to believe it's been 7 years. It's a good feeling.

Congrats, Merry! :cool1:

Maureen, I am glad you have made your decision and that you still get to go to WDW! I hope the surgery goes well and that you are able to enjoy your trip! :wizard: We like Pop Century. :) Yay for FL resident passes!

Just stopping by for a moment, asking if some of you wonderful ladies here might stop by and say hello to Denise here.....

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1972151

You all are such a comfort and support for each other, and another can use some of that now.

Hoping things are going well for you all, and congratulations, Merry. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Dan. I sent her a PM earlier in the day. :thumbsup2

Some of the girls are down in WDW this weekend for The Race for the Cure, but many of us are still here.

Hello to Marie for us! :goodvibes

So happy for you. Congratulations! Have a good weekend.

Hi Linda: So sorry to hear about your cousin. I hope this coming week will be a little better for you. Barbara

Thanks, Barbara. To make matters worse, I've been sick since last week and was started on antibiotics yesterday. Everything's finally starting to break up now. Gross.

Thanks for the heads up Dan. Good to see an old friend. Tell Marie I said hi.

DD takes her SAT tomorrow. Please send positive thoughts her way. A good score is important to advance to National Merit finalist. We have our fingers and toes crossed. ;)

Hi everyone! Dan, I sent my best wishes to Denise. Thanks for the info, it is so scary when diagnosed!

Hope all at the race are having a great time. I plan on being there next year with two new breasts and a smile! :confused3 :cool1: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :worship:

:grouphug: ~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~:grouphug:

Just popping in for a quick hello and update. We've been home a few days, had a nice trip. Park days were short as hubby and I both couldn't manage more than a few hours at a time. His birthday was wonderful. Spent the day at TL and the weather was perfect. Then had a delicious dinner at CA Grill. He had a couple of times when he really didn't feel well and I got hit big time by my UC. I am now on weekly humira shots. I do love to travel but it does not love me. I am taking a break for a while.

Linda- I hope you feel better soon.

Melissa- Congrats! I hope your dd does well. My oldest is taking her PSAT on the 15th. What kind of prep did your dd do for the SAT?

Maureen- The implant swap surgery was easy for me, and others I have spoken with. I'm glad you were able to work out your trip and save $ too.

Thinking of our sistas representing us at the RFTC...:grouphug:

I'm proud, that someone can be so strong and fight with cancer. It is very good for them!

Hey there ladies!!! Just want to say I had a great weekend at Disney and seeing Laurie again. Also met up with Ann and her sisters, Mary and Kathy. The weather was awesome. Am definitely doing next year. The date is October 4th (my sisters birthday :) ) Maybe I can get her to go too ???

There was a huge showing! There was a group from a high school that had 65 team members and then additional 25 signed up this morning. They were the largest new group. How awesome! I did take photos, but not on my priority list. I will get them up though :)

Hugs to you all! Will catch up tomorrow :)
