When we tried the book club before, we had a problem with people skewing the vote to the book they wanted, we read it, and then those who pimped the book didn't participate in the discussion. So we pretty much stopped the book club after that. Hopefully you'll have better luck

I have Secret Life of Bees and Kite Runner in my ipod, so i'd love to particiapte if either are chosen.

I voted for Angela's Ashes...but I just finished Secret Life of Bees and it was a beautiful story that was also very easy to read.

I tried to read the Secret life of Bees. I just couldn't get into it.

This sounds like fun! I voted for "The Secret Life of Bees" b/c I've read all of the other books, except "My Sister's Keeper." The ones I've read though, I thought, were great and wouldn't mind discussing any of them.

I have to vote for the Kite Runner too--I've read all the others! My favorite of the others, though, is Angela's Ashes. It was an outstanding book. Frank McCourt (the author of Angela's Ashes) also has another book out right now--that might be an option

I tried to read the Secret life of Bees. I just couldn't get into it.

Our book club read that and some liked it very much. I read it hoping to like it since so many people had, but it fell flat . I really didn't care for it.

I hope to read The Kite Runner soon, book club or not.
