Dis Aucitons..how to put link in my sig

Now that the Dis Auctions are back up, I'd like to put back in the link to my auctions in my sig. Of course I can't remember how. Can a mod either do it, or tell me how? My Auction name is Personalized. Thanks.

Hi DMRick.
You need to go to your UserCP (from the DISBoards Home Page.) Then click on Options. Then got to your signature. In your signature add My DISAuctions Page . Then click on the Make Changes (or something like that) at the bottom of your Options page and you should be set.

If this does not help - then you can post your question on the Tech Board from the Drop Down list at the Bottom of any Board.

Beth..thanks for trying to help..however, the link you typed turned into a clickable link, so I still don't know what to put in to get it in my signature. Thanks for any help.

Oh DUH!!!

Ok Rick - let's try it this way. Do you have the url for your DIS Auctions page?

If so then here is the code

[*URL=http://INSERT YOUR URL HERE]DMRick's DISAuctions[/URL*]

EXCEPT you need to REMOVE the asterisks and copy the url into the place where I have INSERT YOUR URL HERE. If you want the link to read something else beside "DMRick's DISAuctions", then just change it to whatever you want it to read.

Thanks Beth..I give up. I went to my list on DisAuction to get the URL, pasted it where you said to, put it in my profile, and all I got was a URL for people to copy and paste..it wasn't clickable, so I was still doing something wrong. Thanks for trying. I didn't keep how I did it the first time, since I've changed computers.

Sorry Rick - Keep trying.

If you take and paste the url for your auctions into a post and make that post on the tech board they Techies over there can certainly help you. I cannot go into your profile to fix your signature, but they can. So they are your best hope.

Gosh Rick - I tend to get obsessed about these things.

You can paste the url for your auctions into a post here and I will try to give you a code that you can copy and paste into your siggie and that HOPEFULLY will work.

I have to get off for now, but I will be back on tonight. Hopefully I will get this to work for you!

Yeah..I did it. They have the directions over ont he tech board. Thanks for sending me there. I didn't know about clicking on the http when putting in a link. Here are the directions over on that board:

If you don't know how to Copy & Paste, read up on that first.

Go to the DIS Auctions and click on your auction item. When it is open in your browser window, copy the URL from the address window at the top of your browser. Make sure you get every bit of it. I highly recommend the copy & paste method over typing it out. It's very easy to make a typo when typing it out.

Next, go to the Technical Support Board and start a new thread so that you can test the link before you place it in your signature. Click on the http:// button in the VB code section. A window will pop up, asking what text you want to be displayed for the link. Type in your text and click on OK. A second window will pop up asking for the URL you would like to direct users to. At this time paste the URL in the box and then click on OK. Remember you already copied it during the first step.
Now click on submit. After your post goes through, click on your link to be sure it goes to the correct place. If it does not, you did copy the URL correctly.

If the link worked properly, click edit on your test post. Copy all of the information contained in your test post. Go to your user cp > edit profile and paste it into your signature box. Click on submit modifications and you're all set!
