Just wondering if anyone has seen the London show. Really fancied going to see it for my birthday ( Big one  ) in December as part of a girlie weekend. Now one of my friends is saying that she's heard it's rubbish and not worth the money. Really wanted to see it but don't want friends to be disappointed especially as we have train, hotel and show to pay for.

Any other recommendations for a good show? Have seen Phantom, Les Mis and Miss Saigon.

Alternative is to see Simply Red at the O2 but we've seen them before and one of my friends has never seen a show. Thought it would have been a nice night.

I've heard it's really good. Why don't you give people a couple of options and see which they prefer? At the end of the day though it is your birthday, so I would go with what you want to see.

I haven't seen Dirty Dancing as I too have seen rubbish reviews. I can highly recommend Priscilla Queen of the Dessert, Wicked, Avenue Q, Mamma Mia...these are my favourites (that are still on). I just saw Sister Act this week & that was good too.

I want to see Legally Blonde, that has had fantastic reviews. :thumbsup2 I agree that you should decide as it's your birthday trip.

I've seen most of the shows in the west end and saw Dirty Dancing last year for my mum's birthday. It was very good, not as good as the film which I am a huge fan of but still alot better than some shows I have seen - I would definitely say it is worth a see and I did enjoy it alot but cannot comment on the current cast. However, Sister Act and Legally Blonde are both excellent and I would recommend them both over Dirty Dancing.

Thanks everyone. Still no nearer to making a decision. I think I wanted someone to say it's fantastic, don't miss it. Good job I've got a few months to decide before I book anything.

Really wanted to be in Florida for my birthday but one DS will be at Uni and one doing mock GCSE's.

I've seen Dirty Dancing, its ok but they could have made it sooo much better.

I think you should go for it ~ even if you're a bit disappointed in the show you'll still have a great time having a meal and weekend away. :)

I think I'm going to Elaine otherwise I'll always be wondering what it was like. Have always wanted to see it and other friends are up for it. We can combine shopping, eating, show and drinks of course. May even do Simply Red as well instead of June at Broadlands:goodvibes
