This may not make sense to even consider but here it goes.
1. I am currently not happy with my Bellsouth DSL, and would like to switch to cable broadband, probably RR through Earthlink.
2. When I get rid of my Bellsouth, I would also like to switch to VoIP phones.
3. I have very basic cable service and would also like upgrade the TV. Upgrading cable means lots of $$$. So I am thinking DirectTV.
So, I know you can have Cable broadband and subsequently VoIP phones without having a cable subscription. My question, is can you have DirectTV or Dish Network, which requires phone connectivity (for DVR and Pay per View) , over the VoIP "line". Part of me thinks that any device plugged into a phone jack wouldn't know the difference, but a nagging part of me thinks it may not work.
Anyone?
