Directions and car rentals from Sanford airport???

Hi,, we always fly into MCO.. we can now get straight through fight to Sanford... I know nothing about this airport....can anyone help............I see dollar is onsite terminal......where in the airport is it located...is it easy to get to and use??? also....what are the directions to get to disney from there... any other info on this airport would be very helpful.....thanks...amy

It is easy to get to WDW from the airport, although it is not as close to WDW as Orlando International.

Avis, Alamo, Dollar and Hertz are on the property. while Budget and Enterprise have shuttles from the airport.

thanks.... for the info.... it is 300 dollars cheaper and straight through...so alittle farther is OK.....i found a map... it looks like you can take 417 the whole way....we use that from MCO....is sanford an easy airport to get around.... is it as big as Mco...thanks..amy

You are right about SR-417 the Greeneway. The toll costs about $5 to go from the exit near the Sanford Airport to WDW.
Sanford International is very easy to navigate and is smaller than MCO.

Corvair, I flew into Sanford from allentown and all the rental car counters are by baggage claim area , the only on outside was National and Alamo, and they are right across the street, you can walk there before your luggage even comes out, that's what I did.
The way to get to WDW couldn't be easier, I4 all the way, and there are no tolls there. I found no traffic at all and it took me @ 45 minutes. I did it alone, if I can do it alone, anyone can, trust me on that. Enjoy your trip, the airport is also very nice, small but nice and clean.

thanks... what airline did you use.... i am thinking of Transmeriddian... out of harrisburg so i can fly straight through....but have read so many bad things.... thanks..amy

Where do you live in PA? There is Southeast airlines in Allentown and Vacation Express is starting up in March from Wilkes-Barre Scranton.
