DirectAir Sale All Seats All Destinations $79 one way inc taxes- Book by Feb 28

Great deal. Even better, that $79 includes all taxes and fees now. A family of four flies for $632.
Sales like this always make me worry about long term viability though.

I've been flying with DirectAir for a few years now, always had teh concern about booking and having them go under...other than some flight delays i've got nothing but great things to say about them

is the lakeland/orlando the same airport as sanford? I just booked my room and the flights on direct are just over half the price of sw (we have always flown sw) anyone know how far the airport is to wow and too hero beach...i want to save but I hate change. we will need a car too

Lakeland and Sanford are 2 different airports. Sanford is north of Orlando and Lakeland is west of Orlando closer to Tampa. Lakeland airport is 39 miles to WDW and I think you meant Vero Beach not Hero Beach which is 2hrs from Orlando. Coco Beach is 1hr from Orlando. At Lakeland you have Hertz & Usave. There is Budget in town which may be able to pick you up at the airport or take a cab there depending on your flight times.

do they charge booking fee or baggage fee?
I am trying to compare them with Allegiant.

DirectAir and Allegiant both charge a booking fee or convenience fee as they call it. It is included in the total taxes. If you click on taxes for example when booking with DirectAir you will see the breakdown. Both charge baggage fees as well and that is why we take carryon luggage when travelling with either since these fees can add up. We also rent a vacation home with washer & dryer anyhow so not a big deal. Example below total taxes on a one way flight $43.17 with breakdown indicated.

3/7/2012 IAG ADT 6409 FET Federal Excise Tax - IAG 17.37 USD
3/7/2012 IAG ADT 6409 PFC Passenger Facility Charge - IAG 4.50 USD
3/7/2012 IAG ADT 6409 CNV Convenience Fee - IAG 15.00 USD
3/7/2012 IAG ADT 6409 SEG Segment Tax - IAG 3.80 USD
3/7/2012 IAG ADT 6409 TSA Transportation Security - IAG 2.50 USD

I know you are right on the border so if you want to cross and buy tickets at the counter you can and convenience fee will be waived and the same with Allegiant.

Reservations-related Fees:
Because Direct Air offers its customers convenient methods of making reservations using its website and Reservations call center, a Convenience Fee of $15.00 per person per direction of travel applies to customers who book travel via these methods. This fee will be waived/offset for persons who appear at a Direct Air ticket counter to book travel.

On the other post, someone said you can go to Allegiant's counter at the airport to buy the ticket, that will have have to pay the Website and Call Center Convenience Fee (per person, per segment) $10.00. Is that one included in their total or on top of it?

The call centre fee is an additional fee on top of the convenience fee if you call the call center to make the booking. You don't pay the convenience fee if you go the counter at the airport and they are only open for 1 hour after the regularly scheduled flight leaves with Allegiant. Here is the policy right on Allegiant's website.

Website and Call Center Convenience Fee (per person, per segment)For the convenience of booking travel on Allegiant's website or via its call center, there is a fee per person, per segment. Purchases made at any of Allegiant's Airport Ticket Offices will not incur a Convenience Fee.$10.00Call Center Booking Fee (per person, per segment)

Customers that purchase travel through the Allegiant call center will be charged the convenience fee shown above and an additional fee.$14.99
