This happened to us a few years back. This year we would like to try the Direct to Room process, but again we have specific room requests that we don't want to be over-ridden by the online check-in process. Any advice? Skip the online check-in? Check-in online several days before arrival and then call again to make sure original requests are on reservation?. Is there any place in MDE to see and confirm room requests made by phone?

Don't enter any requests when you do online check in. To be safe, I'd probably call in the requests after doing online check in. You don't need to wait to do either one, I usually check in online months ahead of time. Do both at least a week out.

I don't think there's anywhere in MDE to see phone/fax requests.

I called in my requests and then did online check in and left the request section blank. Worked just fine, we received what was requested.

If you don't contradict yourself on your requests I'm puzzled at how it would matter
Wouldn't you request the same things?
At any rate, room requests aren't a required part of online check in. Simply do none
There's no where to see on MDE what requests you made. And I'm sure you know the more specific you make them, the less likely is you'd get them anyway.

Bingo. Plus requests are only that. There is never a guarantee that they will be met - and short of contradicting requests or purposely requesting something you did not book, how you request has very little to do with it.

As others have said, call in your request. We were staying at AKL while the pool was being worked on. We requested to be away from the construction and it was granted even though we did online check in. Granted ours was a pretty broad request but we have found the more general the request the more apt it is to be granted. If you ask for a specific room or section you are limiting yourself quite a bit.

I spoke with a CM to make a room request for a refurbished room. She said to leave the request section of the online check in blank as it will override the call in request.
