Direct reservation

Hi. We wanted TRex for dinner when we're there but could never find a reservation time. I called TRex direct and they said they were wide open for the day we wanted. ???? I made a reservation direct with them. My reservation # is my name. Can I not link this to My Disney Experience since it was booked direct with the restaurant?

We also wondered about this same issue, especially considering the apparently limited number of TS seats available during Covid. Not having a lot of luck when using the MDE app. Or should we only be using MDE for ADRs?

Trying to temper our expectations with today’s reality but having to eat every dinner at DS wasn’t in our plans.
