Has anyone been able to purchase an add-on that had previous year points? I have a February use year and I want to purchase another 75 points but I need to get 75 2020 points with it. Just spoke to a women in sales, supposedly, and she said it was impossible unless I bought June, etc. she didn’t even know the price for SSR. Thoughts?

Not to hijack the thread but I’m curious if I bought a June UY in May, would the 2020 points expire in a month? Or do they make some exception that allows you to bank them to 2021?

They can’t give you points of a user year that has already passed. Feb 2020 use year already ended. The only 2020 use years that would still have points available must be any month beyond this month, April.

She was correct. They don't actually give anyone previous year points but they give the current UY points for whatever contract you buy.

Does anyone have a good sales rep? So if I was to buy a June use year would I have to buy a new minimum not an add-on?

Nobody get's a previous year's points. That's not possible. You'll always get current year points. For a February use year, we're in 2021, but a June use year is still in 2020. So, it might feel like last years' points, but it's not.

When purchasing direct, they will bank points for you well after the banking deadline.

Don't buy a different use year just to get a few extra points. Maybe try to rent or transfer the extra points you need. A new use year isn't worth the headache unless it is truly a completely separate contract for an entirely separate purpose. You never want to combine points across use years.

A new UY is a brand new membership and they usually require you to meet new minimums.

Before doing it, be sure you know exactly what it means. It’s like being two different owners. You cannot use points from both memberships for a single reservation unless you transfer points between the two and you have to be sure those points work for the trip you want.

Once you bank points, you can not transfer them which means you’d have to use in that membership.

If you have a reason to get two, then it might make sense.
