Direct purchase gift?

Hi all,
We bought the VGF this August, 200 pts direct. Super happy about it, can't wait to have our first trip. Several people have asked me what gift they are giving now when you purchase, with most telling me they got a DVC tote or backpack. It's not a huge deal, I can buy some DVC merch, but is that a thing when you buy direct? We got a cute email with a cool animation and that is it - no DVC gifts. Did they stop doing this?

We have yet to receive any kind of direct gift.... Our contract closed in September.

For our VDH purchase on opening day we got sent a gold insulated water bottle with all the shape outlines of the DVC resorts and a cooling towel.

It’s been over a month since we closed VGF. Haven’t received anything yet. We expected the $25k gold water bottles. Not a big deal but would be nice.

When we bought DVC last year, it was the water bottle and little towel. It arrived about a month after we closed.

Same on our last direct contract purchase, it was at least 30 days after close - water bottles and cooling towels

You can have a water bottle and towel or discounted points. Can't have both apparently.

They send out the gift about 6-8 weeks after you close your deal. We've purchased 4 direct contracts and received a gift for each one. The first 3 were the backpacks, and the last one was the gift box with the water bottle and cooling towel.

If you purchased from a WDW based guide and you ask nicely there is a good chance you might be able to get one of the backpacks when you visit. I’m assuming you purchased over the phone?

I think there are still plenty of the backpacks out there as I saw quite a few of them around riviera when we were there in June on new members who had just purchased. My guide always made a big deal about how they were running out of them but a year later and there is still supply.

I haven’t seen any supply at Disneyland but I could be wrong.

Just received our water bottle and cooling towel today. One each for myself and my husband, and our daughter also received hers the same day. So one for each owner on the account. We just purchased Riviera points in person near the end of August and also received a backpack, Disneyland pins, fridge magnets, etc, when we were making the purchase. We are in Canada so add in extra shipping time to receive our packages today.

We just got our water bottles! We purchased 2-75pt contracts and closed in Sept. Dh and I both got a box for each contract. However, when I bought our first direct points ever last Dec. (60pts VGF at full price!) we got nothing.
