Direct financing question

My DH and I bought our contract on the 8th of Jan and turned in our paperwork on the 14th of Jan. How long does it normally take for you to hear a response back to see if you got accepted or not. Our guide told us that we were accepted and they can finance us so why is my paperwork still at the underwriter? Is this normal? I have my membership cards and also placed our down payment plus I already booked our vacation for Dec of this year. Any information on how this works will be great.

it took us about 3-4. We purchased while on vacation in Nov. Bought on Nov 22 after we got home we had to submit ck stubs and info that our mortgage was current. We got our DVC memb cards while there in Nov. Our points finally showed up on memb website about 3-4 days prior to my being able to make a ressie on Dec 18th. We didn't rec the actual deed until just last week.
