I will be staying at the Boardwalk Villas at the end of may with my husband and 4 kids. My mom and dad may be coming down for some of the time we are there. They want to stay at one of the cheaper resorts (not the Boardwalk Inn) but they want to be able to meet up with us easily. I was wondering if there is a direct bus from Pop Century to Boardwalk or will they need to go to Downtown Disney and then change to a Boardwalk bus? Would the All-star resorts be any easier for them?

There are no direct buses resort to resort. You'd have to travel to one of the parks or downdown disney to catch a resort bus or other mode of transportation. Some of boat transportation and the monorail can transport you from one resort to another. Example: You can take a boat from the Wilderness Lodge Resort to the Contemporary Resort.

I thought that maybe since the Boardwalk is kind of an "entertainment" area it might be a bus destination.

Will they have a car? If so, they can show the room key from their value resort at the gate to Boardwalk, and they'll be allowed to park in guest parking or overflow parking near the BWI entrance.

If no car - might be best to meet up in the parks.

I'd recommend probably taking the bus from the All-Star Whatever to Disney's Hollywood Studios and then he could walk or boat it over from there to the Boardwalk. Probably the easiest as it is less time-of-day dependent than DTD would be.

Enjoy the Magic!

Slight correction: Most resorts if not all do run special character breakfast buses for early morning ADRs. When we were there in April 2007 we were able to take the bus directly from Pop Century to the Contemporary Resort for breakfast at Chef Mickey's.

You probably will have an easier time meeting up in the parks or at one of the resorts off the monorail. You can spend quite a lot of time trying to get from resort to resort. DH and I did a lot of resort hopping this past Nov/Dec at our last trip and we usually tried to do that after visiting one park or another as it does take time to do resort to resort.

Get a taxi. Last September we took a taxi from the Boardwalk to Pop Century for about $5 plus tip! Door to door service...no waiting for a bus...fast and cheap!

While you are correct about the special character breakfast bus, I have read on here that they do not have it every morning.

There are 'character', or early, buses every day from each resort to any/all applicable theme parks. Depending on routing, the individual drivers MIGHT be able to also drop Guests off at specific resorts - but it should not be expected. If getting directly from one resort to another is importaint, the Guest without a personal vehicle should seriously consider using a taxi.

That is true. When we had an early morning ADR for Chef Mickeys, we took the early morning character bus to MK. As we got on the bus, we told the driver we needed to get to the CR and he told us he'd drop us at MK and we could either walk or ride the monorail to the CR. He did not offer to drop us off there.

Other than taxi or private car, the easiest way to get from POP/All Stars is to take the bus to MGM and then catch the boat over to the Boardwalk area.

In order to save time, your best bet would be to meet up at the parks you will be going to each day.
By the time you travel to another park to get a bus to then get to the Boardwalk would be so time consuming.
Agree on a time and spot to meet at each morning and I think that will work out better than trying to go from resort to resort.

Even thought the Boardwalk is a kind of "entertainment district" there are no direct buses from any other resort.
Others have given you good advice. I would most probably have them meet up with you at the park of the day, or take a taxi to the BWV to meet you.

We were at BW last month, my daughter and her boyfriend were at Pop. They took taxi's back and forth. Just too much of a hassle to take a bus to Downtown Disney or the parks and then walk. Average cost was about 10-12 each way.

I don't know if they will do it for 2008 , last I know of it being done was 2006 but they do run direct buses between Boardwalk and Coronado Springs depending on conference / convention schedules. When they have both full with same company they run direct and when its only a partial crowd they run a Downtown/BW/CSR bus.

Of course in order for this to be useful there has to be a full convention going on the whole time your there.

The bad part of this then is that there is a full convention the whole time your there !

They can take the bus to MGM and then it's a leisurely walk to the Boardwalk or if they're not in reasonably good shape, they can take the boat from MGM to the Boardwalk. Very pretty ride too! :wizard:

We meet up at the park we are going to.
