I'm just sitting in my room and I just thought about Dinosaur and had a vivid recap of the scene where the T-rex thing screams right in your face!!! I just had to tell you guys about how much that ride scares me, but I love it even more!!! Such a great ride. :wizard:

This is my FAVORITE ride, even though is scares me to death! Last year when I was on it, I screamed so loudly, that my throat hurt when I got off. Of course, this just made me laugh, which made me a bit hoarse! I can't wait to do it all over again! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to go on this ride. We're going to AK for the first time in Oct (skipped it last year). Someone told me that you never need FP for Dinosaur. I wonder why... is it really fast loading?

We needed FP for Dinosaur, but we were there in the summer.

This my FAVORITE ride as well! :thumbsup2

Before we had kids Dh and I would go there right when it opened and ride it about 7 times in a row before the line built up. :goodvibes

Ugh, I did not care for it! I think I spent the entire time with my head down and wishing I did not get on it. Did I mention the shaking was not cool after eating at Breakfastasaurus?

My DS loves this ride. It has always been one of his favorites. I stay off it at all costs !! It scares me !

Could one of you guys please tell me how you think it compares to the Jurassic park ride at Universal? I too will be going to AK for the first time this year and Dinosaur is one of the main things I am looking forward too. I have ridden JP a lot but have no idea about Dinosaur. Would love some comparisons, thanks.

This is my favorite ride with PotC a close second! Glad to hear other people love it as much as me. :yay:

I love Count down to extension (still upset about the name change). It is great that if you hit the Donald's breakfastasaurous you can jump in line and wait maybe five minutes.

DD was 3 almost 4 when we last rode Dino and she had just had just recieved a little Yetti as a consolation for not getting to ride EE (too small). While on Dino which I though would freak DD out she dropped her Yetti.....so during the whole ride we hear WHERE'S MY YETTI..... I DROPPED MY YETTI.... DD wasn't a bit scared and we did fin her YETTI.

Hey Glendamax, you a Seal fan I take it? I have that very CD, love it, jam on it all the time. Would love a comparison of Jurassic Park to this ride if you have one, thanks.

Last trip I could not get up enough nerve to ride it. My DH Dad and 7yo DS did. My DD was 3 and she was getting scared just sitting in the waiting area and hearing all the dinosaur noises. She watched Jurassic PArk III last night with my DS and she wasn't scared at all of the dinosaurs. If she actually wants to ride this year and is big enough, I'll go on too. IF not me and DD will sit it out.

Hahaha, thanks everyone!! I did not expect this kind of feedback at all! It's great to see some more people who love Dinosaur. I do feel for all the people who think it's too loud or scary. No matter how many times I ride it, I always get scared out of my wits!! :scared1: And I'm always asking, "maybe I shouldn't have ridden it again." But by the end I'm so glad I did.

P.S. I've never ridden Jurassic Park, so I can't help with the comparisons.

Dinosaur is probably my second favorite Disney ride. :thumbsup2 I have only been to AK once, but I think I rode Dinosaur at least 3-4 times.

I have also been on Jurrasic Park River Adventure numerous times. Other then the dinosaur theme, I do not find them comparable at all.

I love Dinosaur too. We always go right at opening, or right after a super early breakfast at Donald's, so we never, ever encounter a wait. I think the theming is great, and I love the rocky, bouncy vehicles. My mom loves this ride also!

Dinosaur(AKA Countdown to Extension) is one of my favorite rides also. I've never riden Jurasic Park because I think it is more like a rollercoaster with drops. That's why I've never ridden it. I don't do rollercoaster, except or RR, because it doesn't have drops. Dinosaur is not a rollercoaster. It's more like Snow White on Acid. :rotfl: No really, it's a dark ride on a track that goes fast in places and is very bumpy in places. Be sure and pay attention to the preshow and listen to the story on the intercom on the ride so you will know what's going on. Try to remember that it's all fake and that you're not really going to be eaten by animatronics. Hold those heads up high and keep saying to yourself "Mickey wouldn't make anything that would hurt me! It's just a story!" :thumbsup2 Listen to the audio that's on the DIS before you go and get used to the story. Maybe it will make you want to leave your eyes open to see what's going on in the audio.
