Our family of 4 are meeting our cousins family of 5 in Disney for a week. We have booked the dinning plan and I was wondering if anyone has done the same with multiple members for booking meals. I was told that if we book together then we will have to pay 18% gratuities. I was thinking we both book seperate at the same places, for the same time. Then we won't have to pay this. What is your oppinion? :confused3

I always tip my servers at Disney at least 18% (every one I have ever dealt with has been fantastic).

So I for one don't get the big deal of paying the automatic gratuity charge. :confused3

You're going to pay some sort of gratuity regardless - no? So to me; that extra bit of grauity to be seated together at the Happiest Place on Earth is well worth it. :)

Do you want to dine at the same time?
An ADR does not mean that you will be seated at that time. They do there best but sometimes it can be an extra 15-20 minutes. What if half your party gets called first and then the other half 20 minutes later?
Do you want to sit together or even near each other?
Sometimes a large group will be seated at 2 tables beside each other or all together. If you book seperate ressies you could be on oppisite ends of the dining room.
As PP you are going to tip anyway so what is the big deal of the auto grat?
Book the table as one ressie and go and have a great time and meal with family.;)
