Anyone ever go to dinner with the kids in the dinning rooms and later eat at Palo's?

Wendy

Wendy.. how hungry are you? LOL

But I see what you mean... I'm not sure - but I want to know too... You mean just sitting with them when they eat, or maybe having a salad.. then going for a nice dinner later..?

Lets see what the experts say

There are two reasons why I wouldn't want to do that:

-- A 4-course meal at Palo is more than enough food.

-- Going to both dinners would mean mssing the evening show in the Walt Disney Theatre.

Me personally, no our DD eats in the club when we do Palo. But I have heard of folks who eat an appetizer and have a drink while the kids are dating dinner in the regular rotation restaurant, and then they go to Palo. I would definitely NOT recommend eating much (we eat NOTHING) before dinner at Palo, so that you don't spoil your appetite. :)

We are travelling with dd 8 and ds 19 months. This is the first holiday for all of us together. (dh does not like to travel) I want the 4 of us to spend some time together. dd8 could eat at the clubs, but I would still have to feed ds something. I thought dh and I could just order an app. to share and have a drink.

Why not just order room service for your toddler instead. Or go to the buffet or get pizza from Plutos (I think, that is the name). I'd have a hard time going to the dining room and telling the waiters I wasn't eating.

JMHO!

We did just that. We had early seating and went with the kids to the regular rotation. We then had 8:00 or so reservations at Palo. The kids went to the show without us after dinner then straight to the lab. We'll likely do the same thing next time because I'd hate for the kids to miss one of their dinners and I'd hate to miss seeing their faces trying foods that they'd never get to eat at home.:D

In our group this past July we all went to Palo's the first night and then my parents went by themselves the second night. We had the early seating (which at that time was 5:30) and then we went to the latest seating for Palo's and we ate all four course for both dinners. My 3 yr old DD went to dinner with us at the beginning of the cruise, but by the end of the cruise she wanted to eat in the club and I didn't push the issue. She became very bored at the table eating with us. When we go again this March on our 3 day and again in Dec on our 7 day, we will do 2 dinner again. We enjoy all the restraunts!

Mike loves room service so he orders the tuna (excellent tuna by the way) plate and eats it on the veranda, we then take him up to scoops for desert and then plop him in the club. He did not want to eat with them so that worked well.

OOOOF! Did that once. Won't do it again. I just didn't have the will power. Our regular Dinner was at Lumier's, and lamb was on the menu. Both dinners were fabulous, but, OMG!

Suggestion: We just returned from the 1/25 Eastern, and we had our DD9 and DS12 have dinner in Parrot Cay, while we went to Palo. We cleared this with our severs in advance, and I have to tell you, I think all would have preferred it that way for the rest of the cruise. Iso and Dante SPOILED the kids, and gave me a glowing report of their manners. "Better than when you are here with them." No Kidding! LOL!

Anyway, don't know the ages of your children, but it worked out great for us!

REMEMBER THE MAGIC! :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

OOPs! Didn't catch the ages of your kids 'till just now, but to any others out there, options abound! After all, it's MAGIC!

wendy we have done that 3 times before and it worked out perfect.we went with kids and had a drink and either a soup or salad and then kids went in to clubs and we had an 8 oclock appointment at palos.we had early seating and we were done with our soup or salad by 6.30 and by the time we end up getting our dinner at palos it was 8.30(between drinks and talking and ordering it was probably 8.30 before you start eating at palos.)so we had plenty of room for our dinner.
either way it should work out fine for you.

Hi Wendy, it's me! That is exactly what we did on our last cruise...see, great minds think alike! Mum and I went with Ashley, we were in Lumiere's that night, and Ashley LOVES dressing up for Lumiere's, it is a beautiful room. We had a drink, and after Ashley was done, brought her to the club, and we went to Palo. We had first seating, and I booked Palo for 7:30, we had more than enough time.

tlgoblue - That's too funny! We had Iso too...isn't he the best! He seems to be the unsung hero on these boards!

If possible, I would go for the option of a quick supper with the kids on deck, or room service, etc... Only reason I would want to do two restaurants in one night, is if it was a 3-day, and that was the only way to squeeze in all four restaurants!!! :D :D :D

Main rotation, followed directly by Palo... That is just toooooo much valuable cruise time spent sitting at a table!!! :p

PS: I have heard good things about the kids eating buffet with the kids club... If your DD 8 would go for that - then I would consider that too. Hey, it is only one meal! Of course, you still have to feed your toddler... so I can see how you might as well all stay together.

We also double-dipped on the first night of our 3 night cruise. We had early seating with our group, then we went to Palo's at 8:30. DH just had soup and salad, I had a main course and the fabulous dessert.
We had a good time.
