Dinner that first night?

We will arrive in Orlando at 2:30 in the afternoon, Sept. 29. We plan to use DME and check into POFQ as soon as we arrive. I figure we'll probably be finished with the check in process and be in our room by around 4:30. Where would you eat your first dinner? We will have annual passes so using a day on a ticket isn't an issue. My first thought was Raglan Road since it's just a short boat ride away. But Food & Wine Festival will be on then (although it will be the 2nd night, and a Saturday to boot, so I think it'll be a zoo). My DD is only 17 and I'm unsure about taking her there (Pleasure Island) on a Sat. night, plus the menu looks pretty pricey. My 3 other suggestions, Earl of Sandwich, WCC and Sci-Fi got shot down with a look that only a teenager can shoot.

I already have ADRs at:
Brown Derby
Plaza Restaurant
House of Blues
Spoodles
Prime Time Cafe
Le Cellier

and we have plans to eat at the POFQ foodcourt for breakfast; Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Rays and the POP Century foodcourt.

Does anybody have any better suggestions for that first dinner?

Well we are in a different situation as DVC members we always have a full kitchen so we just make our meal the first night but if we were to eat someplace it would likeley be teh Pepper Market at Coronado Springs.

Raglan Road is very good, and the boat ride is lovely after a long day of flying. F & W is awesome too, but you might be starving by the time you check in, get settled, get the bus and walk to world showcase!!

How about Ohana's at the Poly? That's where we had our first night's dinner. Our 2 DDs loved it (of course they are younger than your DD) and we adults loved it as well. There are coconut races during dinner that our DDs participated in. We managed to snag a window seat and had a great view of the castle changing colours all night. Then we were lucky enough to watch the fireworks from our table. WOW. This dinner got the whole vacation started in the best way.

If anything, it's all fun to watch and the ambiance it great -- plus the food wasn't all that bad either.
