we are staying 3 nights at RPR and 6 at wdw and will have a car while at RPR... we would like to try a dinner show and i've heard the names of some, but have never read reviews of any... are there any that are recommended? any to steer clear of? the ones i am thinking of are medieval times(?), pirate-something(?) and dolly parton?

i'm sure there are others... i'd like to hear the good/bad/ugly/great... thanks!

It's been years but we went to Medieval times. The show was fun, the food mediocre. We checked it out last summer, but decided it was too expensive for bad food, so we skipped it.

I just wanted to say, if you do decide to try the Dolly Parton stampede and are going soon, we saw some coupons for the show at the Vistana Resort info area (where they have flyers for all the tourist stuff), and it was get a free childs meal with an adult meal. I believe the deal was good until sometime in April. Just an fyi

I LOVE Medieval Times- DELISH food and great show. Very fun atmosphere. I have been at least 10 times since I was 8 and the last time I went was August 2004. I would recommend it. I am going to Orlando again in May and I am looking for a good Murder Mystery Dinner Show to go to. If anyone has any suggestions, they will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

I went to the pirate one in '02 and it wasn't that bad, the show was on the whole quite good, but the food left a little to be desired which is quite usual at these dinner shows.

I have heard very good things about the Dolly Parton show, but have also heard it is a little 'over-patriotic' but if that's your thing then go for it!

hmmmm... decisions... is there more than one medieval meal in orlando? would an 8yo boy/10yo girl enjoy it, and would they "get" it? i'm thinking the pirate one might be a blast for ds, how 'bout for dd?

Arabian Nights have been voted number one in Orlando for I think 10 years. It is my personal fav and the one I always recommend to guests. The website for it is http://www.arabian-nights.com/
You should definately check this one out, I have seen every dinner show in Orlando and this one is worth seeing.

I agree with Arabian Nights. My DD12, (at the time we went), was mesmerized to the point of not eating. We went with some adult friends and all 5 of us enjoyed it. You can get discounted tickets at www.ticketmania.com. Debby

I, too, am thinking of going to a dinner show while staying off-site.
I wanted to go to a show on our arrival night, to give the family something fun to do because we will not be going to the parks the first day of our vacation.
Looked at the Arabian Nights website; it looks great! DD will be 14 and she loves fantasy and also loves horses as well; this show looks like it will really appeal to her!
I also like that the dinner has a choice of varied menu items.
Likely, we will be going to Arabian Nights!

We went in Jan to medival times and had a blast!! I have 2 boys 6 and 4 and that was the highlight of the 4 day trip at Disney. They talk about it all the time. The food isn't gourment but I enjoyed it. It is kind of expensive, but I think it was well worth it. The kids can meet the knights after the show and the show itself it very very good. You get a little of the horse show ala arabian knights, but also lots of sword fighting, jousting and plenty of action!!

Go YELLOW KNIGHT :-)

We are also thinking of going to Arabian Night during our Dec. trip. If anyone has ordered Arabian Nights tickets from Ticketmania - are they the VIP tickets? The reason I ask is that the door price quoted on Ticketmania is the same as the VIP price on the Arabian Nights website. If they are the same tickets - it seems like a tremendous deal! I think my kids would love this show.

I have been to Medieval Times many many times and I have been to Arabian once. I didn't really like Arabian..... pretty horses- thats about it. MT has a much better performance, theming, dinner, etc. in my opinion :)

:sad2: Skip the pirate one. I thought it looked good too, however compared to arabian nights/medieval times special effects..... it was boring....

Sound system is horrible, nice set, great costumes... but everyone we went with agreed (adults and kids)....
waste of money... we should have seen medieval times again.....
