Dinner Ressies/FP - carry over?

Waitlist Question:
I read that if your waitlist comes through you lose any dining reservations made under the original reservation and get refunded, is this true? Are any fast passes made under the original reservation also cancelled?

I have had plenty of waitlists come through and have never had a dinner reservation or a fastpass cancelled.

Perhaps the reports were referring to the Dining Plans and not the ADRs. ADRs do not disappear when a waitlist comes through (and neither do FP+ reservations), but if the original reservation had a dining plan, it would be refunded and you would have to add it to the new reservation.
