Ok- Please help a newbie out!! lol

Ive noticed that everyone talks about dinner reservations- We are planning on for sure doing one character meal and I know its imperative that you make ressies for that but what about the other meals?

We are doing four days and planning on doing lunches/dinners at Disney. Do we need to make reservations for every meal? Im assuming only if its a full service place you would make a reservation?

Im just not sure what days we are going and what are plans are for where we will be at meal times and what restaurant will make sense to go to depending on what area we are in.

Also we are going beg of May so park hours are shorter- we want to do one day where we can see the fireworks and shows which I think are only on the Fri, Sat and Sunday. Does anyone have a reccomendation which day would be best? Those days will be May, 4th, 5th and 6th. I know the 5th is Cinco de Mayo and the 6th there is an AIDS walk through Disney.

Thanks for any help! This is all so confusing- so glad to have found this board!!!!

You only need reservations for full service restaurants. For character dining I would probably suggest Goofy's Kitchen. It seems to have the best variety of characters, and has really good food.

You'll want to call the Disney dining line to make your reservations, or do it online. The number is 714-781-3463. There are some notable restaurants that I would look into, like Blue Bayou (expensive, but you get to eat INSIDE the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, it's phenomenal), Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, which is in Frontierland, it has all you can eat ribs, chicken, sausage, corn, cornbread, coleslaw, and beans. It's really yummy, and there's live entertainment as well. Also Ariel's Grotto is nice, it's character dining, but Princesses only. It's not my favorite, a little fancy for my taste, but it's also a nice option. :)

During your visit it will be offseason again. You must CALL to make the dining reservations for any Table Service location in the resort except Rain Forest Cafe, you have to call them directly, Disney Dining for the rest. You can make reservation a couple weeks out for less popular locations even a week or day will probably do.

Aladdin will probably run every day except on two days a week Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

WoC probably nightly. F! and Fireworks only on the weekend as you noted above. If possible watch fireworks on Friday as they can be cancelled easily and this will give you a chance to see them again.

While the Aid Walk is happening this is a day not to park in Mickey and Friends, avoid Ball Road early in the morning. There is no MM that Saturday and parks open late for a weekend. It does not effect park crowds in an adverse manner.

You also have to call Napa Rose direct for reservations (I found this very odd, but have had to do it twice now).
