We are going to be arriving from the airport at the Wilderness Lodge after 8pm with 2 young kids (3 and 5). Does anyone have any good suggestions for dinner that night? I'm sure the kids will be tired, cranky, and overly excited (so a fancy sit-down dinner is out).

Thanks!

Judy

The Whispering Canyon Cafe is very good, but I would try & make a PS if you can. The food there is very good.

Another option is to check in to your room, then head down (either together or solo) to Roaring Forks and get a quick meal there.

Sounds like a good night for room service to me. They could have baths while you wait or listen to the bedtime stories on the TV.

Or as Terk suggested, pick up some food from Roaring Forks and enjoy it in your room.

We ejoyed having Roaring Forks in our resort, the food was hot and fresh. Don't know what time of year you are going and if it will be warm enough outside but a few times we got food from Roaring Forks and sat at a table outside in the courtyard soaking up the ambience of the courtyard (I love it there). The menu is more varied for room service but the entrees are generally $20 and up except for the cheeseburger and fries that they charge $12.95 for when you can get the same at Roaring Forks for $5.99 (per the pricing I just saw comparing the menus at wdwig.com). Of course you're paying for the convenience but you also have gratuity etc. you don't have downstairs at RF. Hope this helps.

Wow, Epcotgal..that surprises me that the cheeseburgers are the same. We've not stayed at WL but have many, many times at the Polynesian. Both the kids and adult cheeseburgers are wonderful from room service and the child's isn't much more than the one from Captain Cooks where the burgers are typical fast food stuff. Really the room service ones are GREAT...tons better than B&C for instance.

I would suggest getting something from Roaring Forks also. WE ate there several times on our last trip and found it easy and quite good.We did WCC too but it is very loud and crowded and might not be a good choice for two very tried kids. Room service we found to be quite expensive but might be worth it if you want something other than fast food. They do have a large pizza for 16.95 but there was a 17% delivery charge and another charge that I have forgotten. Still worth it if the kids are too tired to go anywhere.BTW, we loved the WL. Have a great trip.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We are going next week (MLK wkd) and it sounds like Roaring Forks will likely be a good solution.
