Hi guys,
1/22/05 is coming fast and furious! :Pinkbounc

Here's a question....What's the possiblity of requesting specific items for dinner? If I want say..2 lobster dails  and a couple of veggies, no potatoes or rice...can i do that? They aren't going to bring me out two dishes with two meals on it are they? Or if I wanted steak and grilled shrimp together...

Am I expecting too much? They aren't going to bring out 3 dinner plates in put them in front of me like JABBA THE HUTT are they?

Thanks, Mike

Mike, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how accomodating and gracious they can be. How many plates you get probably depends on what is and isn't ordered. During the galley tour they explained the presentation standards they have for the food - including pictures of how each plate should look. Even if you order a bunch, they want it to not only be delicious, but LOOK delicious.

they will bring you whatever you like...if it is available on the menu, they will bring it out any way you like....

Thanks, I'm quite excited! Trying to stick with Meat/fish but no potatoes! :)

She said her biggest fear is that she'll be embarrassed when I ask for the steak dinner and then some other entree or veggie to go with it. I tried to tell her it happens alot but she doesn't believe me...

When we went on the 4 day my DD wanted 2 different dinners, one from the kids menu and one from the adult menu. When we asked they were very nice about it. It was no big deal and they were happy to do it for us. My DD was very excited too! Good luck and enjoy!!

Mike -

Tell your wife not to worry. We ordered all sorts of items every night. Often when we could not decided between two items our server would bring both. My kids wanted fries with everything. By night three the servers were reminding us not the other way around. My DH LOVES lobster. On lobster night he asked for two.. no problem and then they brought him an extra one later.

If you get a server that makes you feel funny about special requests ask for a new table. In my experience the Disney dinning room team is all about service!

My DH will be skipping the rice and potatoes too if he sticks with his diet. Double veggies whenever we go out anywhere. All restaurants now cater to this and don't mind at all. Even on cruise week he will have double veggies so later he can have double desserts!

See, now you know my strategy! Stay away from the pasta, rice and Potatoes! Go for the veggies and have a great dessert at the end!

Heaven knows why I'm waiting for NOW to start!

When you order seconds on something, do they bring a whole other plate? I'm figuring yes they do...

The do often bring an extra plate. DH added a steak to the lobster, and it came on a 2nd plate. He also got two entrees in Palo, two plates there too.

I'll have to deal with the extra plate embarrassment with my wife!
