We hope to arrive early.. not sure yet. However, would you eat at your resort or the resort you really want to tour or downtown disney? I think we will get to Disney no later than 2pm. Tiffany

I would (and I do) go to Downtown Disney. It's become a tradition of ours to have dinner 1st night at Rainforest Cafe.

We are planning on Chef Mickey's our first night! Since we aren't doing the parks I want to do something 'Disney' to help get the kids excited. We will do some pool time and hopefully a 5 or 6pm dinner there so it'll be an early night.

We like to go to Spoodles on our first night, then walk around the Boardwalk after dinner.

We always go to the MK the day we arrive. This past trip we didn't even drop off the bags first at the resort, just go our keys/tickets and went straight to the park.

That being said we usually eat at Cosmic Ray's the first night. Sort of became our tradition. We always had a nice dinner planned for the 1st night but could never seem to make it out of the park to go. :rotfl:

I would say do whatever you feel gets you in the biggest Disney mood the first day!

I think it also would depend on what resort you are staying at and who is going, if Wilderness Lodge I would go to Artist point or whispering Canyon Cafe, if Polynesian, Kona or 'Ohana. Otherwise, I would go to Downtown Disney and eat at Wolfgang Puck Cafe or Rogan Road.

We are staying at AKL, but want to tour WL one night we are at disney for 7nights. We will not being going to the park as of now,but this could change. :)

I'd go over to WL and eat at Whispering Canyon. After dinner you can go out to the boat dock and ride the ferry to MK and back / or the smaller boat to Contemporary - ride the monorail around 7-Seas Lagoon and then catch the bus back to your resort from the MK.

This gives you a chance to see WL and then get in the mood for WDW by riding the boats and monorail!!!

It all depends on the trip. If I've got a car, we tend to do an offsite meal whenever we arrive. With ME, that would be different. I would tend to NOT have an ADR the first night, in case something happens, the flight is delayed, we're running late and don't have time to eat breakfast,or we eat lunch at an odd time. Our meal schedule tends to get 'off' on our arrival day.

If I was planning to arrive at 2pm though, assuming ME...I'd probably hit DTD or our resort food court. We sort of like to check out our resort food court on the day of our arrival. Even though the rest of our subsequent meals there are breakfast - it's nice to know what the home court options are. We also usually get suckered into buying refillable mugs then.

I'd recommend an early dinner at WCC, tour the resort, then head over to DTD for a little shopping and dessert at Ghiradelli's.

When we arrive later in the day we always go to DTD and eat at WPE, the food is awesome! Then we shop and relax......

We hope to be on property about noon on our first day. So its off to Star Wars Weekend and then to Chef Mickey's. Have heard this is a very stress free way to acclimate the young ones to those larger than life characters.

On our first night we went to downtown for a little shopping and then hopped the bus to Wilderness lodge to eat at WCC. It was a great way to start the trip very fun place to eat. Once we were done we strolled the grounds and took the bus back to downtown disney to pick up some items we were thinking about buying (so we wouldn't worry about it later) and caught the bus back to our hotel.

Hey,

We always hit MK the first day. This year we will take the boat from MK to WL and have our land vacation kick-off dinner at WCC! Then either head back to MK or our resort (POLY) really depends on how tired the kids are.

We are going to eat at the resort at the WL and than go to downtown Disney like we do every year we are down there only 16 days to go.

We dress nicely for flying, something other than T-shirts and jeans (old habit from when I used to work for airline, and you dress nice to fly for free!). So the first night we went to Artist's Point, and since we had a 7-day tickets (the last day only cost $3 extra), we boated over to MK and saw Spectromagic and Wishes.

We'll be flying into Orlando right around 9 in the morning so we're hitting MGM for the first day and we've got ADR's for Sci-Fi. I've never been to WDW but that is our plan.

We usually do Boma the first night and then head to DTD and go to Disney Quest for the night.
