We will be arriving and staying offsite the day before our check in at wdw. We are now trying to decide where to eat at that night, We do prefer sit down - cost isn't a big issue.

We first thought about going to t-rex or RFC and hanging around DTD, but we are doing that the day we leave (not eating there, but going shopping)

We then talked about going to Cape May - we love it there, but didn't have room for it during our trip because we wanted to try a few new places...

There are 5 of us and I have checked and there are available times for the night at those (as well as a few more) places....so any suggestions?

It has to be sit down.
We would prefer it not to be a signature dining (we are doing quite a few of those later in the vacation)
It has to be outside a park because we won't have tickets yet.

and GO.....

Why not do Kona or Ohana then u could spend your first night at the Poly and watch the EP on the beach and maybe catch the MK fire works. We love it there. The same for AKL. If you did Sanaa or Boma you could do some night viewing of the animals. I always like to spend one night around a resort and these two have plenty to keep you enetertained

I don't think T-Rex or RFC are all that great. Very chain-like and not unique to Disney, IMO. We have a RFC here so maybe that's why I feel this way.

I would do Cape May if that's a favorite, or I like the PP's suggestion of Kona or Ohana. We've watched wishes and the EP from the Poly beach before and it was good.

We already have ADR's for Ohana the next night ;) and Jiko later in the week...

I would recommend Raglan Road for your first night. It is great fun and good food. It is a beautiful restaurant, with warm, friendly servers. It has a larger menu than many restaurants. And there is a band and Irish Step Dancers to entertain.
We love it and go each trip

I just did Sanaa at AKL (Kidani) for lunch and loved it so much that I went back for dinner the same night. Take a look at the menu and see if that might appeal to you.

I guess it might help if you know were we are eating :)

Last year we did Sanaa on our first night in the same situation and the year before it was Cape May. We enjoyed both. I also think Raglan Road is a great option.

Perhaps the boardwalk would be fun?

You could have some of the vibe of DTD, but in a different area. I like Kouizzina myself, and I've heard good things about Flying Fish.

After dinner, you could head to The Belle Vue in the Boardwalk in for a drink, to Jellyrolls or the Atlantic Dance Hall for a little more active nightlife, or over to the Fantasia miniature golf course.

I was faced with a similar situation on the day I'm visiting AK, so did some research on what to do after it closes at 5. :surfweb:

I would try the Boardwalk area also. I like Todd English's BlueZoo it is in the Dolphin. At 9:00 you can see the epcot fireworks from the lighthouse and see the free nighttime entertainment on the boardwalk.

We just returned from WDW last weekend and had a great meal at Big River Grill over at Boardwalk. We chose to sit outside as the wait was about 45 minutes for inside, but they had nice patio heaters and it was great to people watch (terrific burgers too). I would not hesitate to eat there again.

If you can find a resturant called Darrells, You will find the best tasting rack of ribs in the country, I'm not sure were it is, just know it's on international drive, but well worth finding. :lovestruc
