DH might be having a meeting in WDW in Oct. I'm putting together a presentation for him. The better it is, the better the chance that they hold the meeting at WDW and you better believe I'm sneaking along!!

They need suggestions for dinner on a Saturday night for 75 people. I was told that there aren't any restaurants that can accomodate them and that I might have to look into a meeting room at a resort.

Has anyone ever been involved with a group this large. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to give them a wide variety of options, some being as economical as possible, which means that eating at a park could be out because of the cost of park entry.

Chef Mickey's accommodated us last December before MVMCP. I believe we filled almost a whole section. They are very willing to work with you and they hold 350. You need to call them directly. Make sure you keep a copy of a contract that gets signed and make sure that they talk to you about possible increases in meal prices. I don't know if that would work for your group but it is buffet. I hadn't checked any other places but you could call Dining Services and they might be able to tell you who could hold that many - I would think any of the restaurants at Yacht and Beach Club (except Beaches and Cream :D ) could hold that many, there's Gulliver's Grill (I think that's the name of it) over at the Swan that is good sized, and also maybe Olivia's at Old Key West. I just can't remember if their dining room is that large.

Good Luck - I'm thinking we had about 80 people at Chef Mickey's, if not more.

I too was going to suggest on of the buffet spots. They might request that you do a specific time, and you might not have a lot to say about when it is.

Check out Disney Meetings

Depending on your budget, you could do something really neat with that large of a group.

Some possible interesting ideas:
Rent out a room at DisneyQuest
Rent one of the lounges (like Member's Attic) at the Grand Floridian and have GF private dining setup a buffet for everyone
Rent out the Living Seas VIP room at Epcot and have Epcot catering setup a buffet

HTH! :D

I'm so glad to hear you guys say that.

I've been emailing with a wonderful lady that takes care of meetings at WDW, but she has been pointing me in the direction of a private function at one of the theme parks or keeping it in the hotel meeting room where they might be staying.

I don't know if a private function will work on their budget and staying in the meeting room seems a little boring. It would be fun to get out and see a little more of WDW than just the meeting room at the hotel.

Chef Mickey's would be fun, then they would get to see Mickey! I wonder if Ohana can handle a group that large?

Cool - thanks guys!

Cross your fingers for me that DH's boss likes the plan! I could use a Disney fix! :) (couldn't we all?)

I was going to point out Chef Mickey's also (I was at the dinner with December99 too. :) ). Anyway, there really wouldn't be any way to have a 'meeting' there during the dinner, but I'm sure they could handle your large group just fine.

I didn't get that impression that you wanted to do that, but I just wanted to point it out.

Oh, and you get to meet Minnie and my favorite Goofy too. :)

Yep, you're right Jeff, they don't want to have a meeting. Just a relaxed dinner.

Is there a website that lists the maximum occupancy for the restaurants in WDW? I got a few menus from Debs site. I'm going to list a few options and then if they decide to have the meeting at WDW we'll have to figure out which ones might not work just based on the group size.

My sister's company rented out House of Blues for dinner. They also had a private concert by KC and the Sunshine Band. She works for a drug company, so they weren't as concerned about a budget. Her company even reopened MK one night for a private function. They had use of all of the better rides in Frontierland and Tomorrowland, as well as a buffet and dance floor in Cosmic Rays.

That lady is probably wanting to direct you that way because it would be bigger bucks!!!!!

I don't know if you could find out the capacity. I found out just by calling Chef Mickey's.

we had our rehersal dinner at chef mickey's and there were a lot of us. they were very accomodating, and super nice! :D

Coronado Springs has a Convention Center that have separated rooms. Try there!

Hoop-de-doo Revue is another possibility. They can take large groups there as well. Contact Disney Dining and ask for Group Dining. Large parties are usually seated at the earliest possible seating. It's a Group Dining policy.
