Where would eat dinner before the Pirates' & Pals' Cruise? We must check in for the cruise at the Contemporary around 7:15 PM. 2 Adults, my 16 year old daughter and her 17 year old "friend" (who is a boy).
I would go to tony's town square. it has good food and it is right by the front gates of Magic kingdom so you can just walk out and get the boat or monorail to the contempory

My DS4 and I are doing Pirates & Pals in August! I am planning on eating at The Wave at the Contemporary Resort. The atmosphere is sophisticated, but relaxed and I think the food is very good. We will then be right there when it's time to check in for the cruise! I'm always nervous about transportation times and even ADR check-in times at WDW, so I would rather be right there in the resort and not have to rush if we become pressed for time. Plus, the Contemporary is so much fun to just poke around!
Another option could be California Grill at the Contemporary, which is upscale and wonderful - I would just make sure you have the earliest ADR to make it to the cruise on time.
I'm pretty sure the reservationist told us to meet at the Contemporary at 8:35 pm for the 10pm fireworks. What time is the fireworks show for you? I was sure I wrote down that information correctly. Now you have me nervous.

In addition to the Wave or Cali Grill, for fun there is also Chef Mickey's if you're wanting a character meal, which is located in the Contemporay too. You could also choose a meal at one of the restauarnts at the Poly or GF since they're on the monorail you'd be a short ride away. ANother option would be the Wilderness Lodge, a short boat ride away.
Many choices in the MK, as mentioned already, Tony's, there are several other sit downs (Crystal Palace, Plaza, Liberty & CRT), not to mention many counter service options.
Decisions...decisions...decisions part of the fun. Have a good time & don't underevaluate how much your teens might enjoy a character meal, especially if you're going to the P&P cruise, which BTW, is loads of fun
