dinner at the castle or Mickey's backyard bbq?

We are going to get the DDP but are planning on paying out of pocket for either the castle or Mickey's bbq. We are going to forego hoppers in order to do so.

Which would you recommend for children ages 8, 6 and 4 at the time of visit? My kids LOVE LOVE LOVE characters!

Do your kids dance? If not then I wouldnt go to the BBQ. It is a really fun character free for all. The characters dance and the kids who dance mob them on the floor and have the time of their lives.

My kids who dont dance got bored.

The castle is a typical character meal with a picture of Cindy in the lobby. Here you are paying for the location....eating in the castle.


they are really two different experiences. You may want to check youtube for videos of the BBQ and see if you think your kids will like it.

If your kids love, love, love characters, the interaction at Mickey's Backyard BBQ might not be for you. The characters do not come to each table. Instead, it is a dance free for all for the kids. It is hard to get any pics of your kids with the characters while they are all dancing. However, my boys loved the rope tricks and the food at the BBQ. They would go back there over the castle with the princesses anytime!

We were REALLY disappointed with the BBQ...food was okay, ran out of beer before the night was half over and they did not get new kegs (not a big deal as we don't drink a lot but for the money when dh wanted a beer you'd think he should be able to have one). There were to many kids all in a free for all on the dance floor so no one on one character interaction...was a waste of our money in our eyes.

Dinner in the castle was fabulous...nice character interaction, great setting, great service and we really liked the food alot! I think everyone should eat in the castle at least once!!
