Here I go again.....

This review consists of:
Dinner at Crystal Palace
Snacks at Sleepy Hollow, Aloha Isle and the shop inside the toontown hall of fame.

The crew: Me, mom and the WDW vacation planner. I plan months in advance and have everything organized way before we leave. I love the characters, Wishes, and Phillharmagic. I like the themed rides more than the thrill rides.

DH: Used to love WDW until we took so many trips, he got tired of it, but still drags himself along. Likes thrill rides and loves shows.

DD5: Loves WDW as much as I do. Favorite rides are Peter Pan's flight, the Indy speedway, Pirates, and Dumbo. It will be her birthday for this quick trip.

For those of you who know me, you know I take several trips to WDW per year since we live only 2 hours away so of course, for DD's 5th birthday, we headed down to the Magic Kingdom to celebrate....oh yeah, and of course, we had to eat so this is what we did:

I had a ADR for Crystal Palace dinner for 3:30pm. I like early or very late dinners for several reasons:

The characters have more time with us.
The restaurant isn't so crowded so you get better attention from servers, the food quality is better and you wait less to be seated.
I don't like crowds because I have social anxiety.
We can save money by having a late lunch/early dinner in one and just snack during the day.

So, I'll get on with the reviews. I'll do the snacks first....

First, we wanted to grab a snack while in the hall of fame in toontown fair. There wasn't much choice though. Mostly candy and cookies. DH spotted a small fridge with candy apples and we all agreed that we'd like to try a caramel apple.
I bought one and we all took a bite but didn't like it. The man at the counter was nice enough to exchange for a bag of sour gummy candy but I did have to fill out a small paper. No problem. Sorry I don't have any pics.

Later on, we were still hungry, so we opted to try a snack at Sleepy Hollow. I always wanted to try a funnel cake from there so we made our way over. At first, DH wanted to try a Mickey waffle with powdered sugar, but DD and I wanted a funnel cake, so we agreed to only buy 1 funnel cake and share since we didn't want to get full for our early ADR at CP. The funnel cake was topped off by strawberries and whipped cream.

This was sooooo yummmmmmy!!! Everyone loved it and it was plenty to share and hold us off until dinner.

Even the birds came over to have some:

We also had a snack after dinner at Aloha Aisle. After so many people on the Dis talking about how great dole whips are, I just had to try one!

We got a dole whip soft serve for DD and DH and I split a Dole whip float. We thought they were pretty good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to have another one. :confused3

Ok, so now on to Crystal Palace....

We were pretty hungry for dinner, so we tried to check in early at 3:10pm even though the ADR was for 3:30. They had no problem with this, but we still had to wait. They gave us a pager and sat out on the porch. The wait was only about 5-10 min. so it wasn't too bad.
This restaurant was beautiful.
We were seated by a window table overlooking the bridge that goes from adventureland to the hub area. Not the best view, but nice enough.
After a minute or two, the server came over, she was very nice and explained the buffet, and the character rotation. :thumbsup2

Piglet was only 2 tables away so we waited for him to come by before getting our food.

We then got some food....
Here is my first plate.

Rotisserie chicken, kids chicken nugget, mashed potatoes, Adobe pork, and white rice.

The chicken was very good and the pork was excellent. :thumbsup2 I didn't like the rice as it tasted like breakfast syrup was poured on it. The food was warm, but not hot. Everything was full at the buffet too, they kept up with it well.
There were lots of choices, but it wasn't overwhelming. Food quality was very good and food had lots of yummy flavor.

Here is my 2nd plate:

Prime rib (a bit too rare for my taste) and not much flavor, more mashed potatoes, pork and pasta primavera (pretty good).

The characters were great too. They came around 3 times each and spent a decent amount of time at each table. Eeyore especially made a big fuss when my DD who was dressed as snow white ate a apple.

This was brought out to DD for her birthday. All the characters signed the card.

My desserts:

Peanut butter and choc. cake, strawberry cheesecake and tiramisu. ( I love tiramisu which is why I got 2 pieces but this one wasn't so good).

DD's plate:

ice cream, apple, peanut butter and choc. cake and strawberry cheesecake.

Overall, service was fast and good, food was good, and characters were great.
I would recommend this place if you are in MK.

I hope you all enjoyed my reviews and pics. Thanks for reading. If anyone has any questions, please ask.;)

Yes, her appointment was at May 14th at 8:05am. We were able to get into the park early and it was so worth it.
