We just got back, had dinner in the castle on Sept. 28th. The Crab and Seafood spring rolls are very good! DH had the king cut prime rib, very good, wish I had ordered that too, I had the lamb shank, it was good, but needed to be braised longer so more of the flavor penetrates the meat. Desserts were good, we had the sorbet and the chocolate cake, the slipper dessert was not available on the dessert menu. And if you're on the dining plan, they only allow 1 drink, so just a soda or coffee, not both.
We really enjoyed it! We all loved the filet, the caesar salad was good, my oldest says the shrimp was great, the kids meal was pretty good, especially the fresh fruit and the crown sundae, and the slipper dessert was one-of-a-kind!
We ate dinner there last week. Not our favorite. DH said the prime rib was great but his potatoes had some very undercooked potatoes in them. The spring roll and shrimp cocktail were great. I had the pork tenderloin and it was very dry. It came with pasta but honestly I couldn't eat it because it was so overcooked. Desserts were great (no slipper dessert). We had the chocolate fudge cake and it was yummy. The best part of dinner? Meeting Cinderella in the lobby. Very few people and she spent a lot of time dancing and singing with dd. It was the one place that made me cry! Very magical.
The service was ok. Our waiter was nice but we had to ask for him a couple of times (basically to get the bill).
I'm glad we did it but probably won't do it again. Very limited menu and very expensive.
I would love to eat hear on our next trip, but just for the atmosphere. The menu does'nt look appealing to me and i'm not a picky eater, I really don't see an entree' on there i would want to pay that kind of money for. JMO
CRT has gone downhill in my opinion. We ate there 10/2, the night of MNSSHP. Service was good, but too fast. Food was ok, but not as good as previous visits. Cinderella in the lobby is always a thrill for the kids no matter how old they get.
I have dinner booked for Dec. and I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't seen any WDW restaurant the hasn't gotten mixed reviews... If you want to dine there, go for it!
We have eaten there three times--breakfast once and dinner twice, and we have an ADR in Dec for dinner too. We have always have had good service and good food IMO. My picky 13 yo DS will even eat lamb there!!!
